Anyone planning an epic costume for yourself, or your kid(s)?
We have a parade and costume contest every year for the kids here in my little town. When my son was 2, 3, and 4, he got 1st place in his category those years. Unfortunately, it just hasn't worked out time-wise the last couple years to go all out for him (he's 6 now).
My 10th wedding anniversary is coming up October 23rd, and I really wanted to do a costume bash as a celebration, but the wife just gives that "how many times were you dropped on your head as a child" look. Oh well. Some people just grow up too early. I avoided that whole "what do you want to be when you grow up" thing by just deciding not to grow up - hence my proclivity for playing with remote control toys...

Anyway, these are some of the best costumes I've seen, these people know how to get it done...what are your plans?

never grow up! halloween is my favorite holiday.

this year i'm building my 5 year old son a robot costume by his request.
i'll be rocking a full great kilt, broadsword and face paint.
my wife will sit this year out. she's due oct 17th so she'll be a little busy with a newborn.

the one costume I want to pull off one day is a gundam. Lots and lots of preparation to do that one though. always been fascinated by mecha stuff.

eh stop dressing up back in 1990, SOme reason was no fun for me.

BUt my daughter growing up nothing epic all basic. I love giving the kids candy and seeing all their costumes. (sorry no high school trick or treater's). But used to be in my old house with my pops, we set out a fire pit and chilled out front, so kids new we were home to give candy. little kids had to say "trick or treat" then they got candy. (dads got a beer).

a few years back (before kids) we all (adults) went trick or treating. most folks thought it was great, a few old farts yelled at us.

One of my lifelong friends and I and maybe 6-8 other friends would go all out decorating a house (this was back when trick or treat was still in the evening after dark) and getting dressed ourselves to pass out candy. We went the distance...tombstones with a casket in a hole covered in leaves to have someone dressed as a zombie sit up and scare the kids as they came up for candy...someone would climb the streetlamp pole and cover the light so it would be darker...lots of blacklights and foggers... Not as mean as it sounds, the kids and parents loved it, and for 5 or 6 years we had quite a reputation around town...lots of kids from other neighborhoods conned their parents into coming over to see it. Quite the production. Do that these days, some parent will shoot you in your own yard.

I'm the same thing every year. The fun part is going into full character along with the costume. Imagine Joe Dirt, but with a serious chip on his shoulder. My wife and daughter usually try to stay at least 15 feet away from me when we're out in public. I wear it to all the Halloween events we go to.

He has freakishly muscular legs and if you could see how they looked in those hose you'd lose your lunch! I always crack up on dog costumes.

The soldiers are great but those Lego character costumes are fantastic.......needs someone else in the photo for size comparison though. I had to have second and third looks....

Yeah, those Lego outfits are rather huge, if you look close you can see people hands and the mesh where they look out...
