I was scouring our local surplus store and came upon something I couldn't leave without! This stainless steel 4u server case must have cost some business serious money a few years ago. I had been looking for a 2u case but I'm stingy. This one set me back a whopping $15! Now I need to set up the shelf for it.

didnt want the PC just the case. Buuuuuut......Mach3 likes the older OS better so I could have kept it. It also requires a parallel port. The machine inside is modern AMD quad core with Win7 and a pci parallel port. Everything turned off and no internet access.

Got a few more components, namely a killer little power supply and a Gecko stepper controller. Now it's time to fit it all in one box

One step forward and one step back! Removed the bulky PC and went to an all in one dell. Sitting on an adjustable arm that is bolted to the 3/4" MDF back. I have wanted to build a bit of a shield for a while to control dust anyway so this accomplished a couple goals. I've freed up some room and hopefully will start building the new cnc machine soon- I can't believe it's taken this long

Looking good. I see you have boxer proofed the shop by locating stuff higher so he can't get to it as easily . They sure love chewing on the rubber tires...mine does anyway

Ok, nothing like responding to your own posts, but.............
It is working now. I have NO IDEA what I did. I didn't change anything settings wise. The only thing I did differently this time is plug in the power supply to my laptop.
Been at this one for a while now and finally about to wrap it up. All parts are scaled 1/2 from the 12e making it a 1/24 car. Fits slot bodies but I'm struggling to find a nice early 80s stock car for it. I made a few concessions along the way but...
I miss my old stash of cars. I cant remember if most of them went to Switzerland or Australia. This is the old hobby room....

Getting closer. It’s almost presentable. The rubber base molding was remnant from a local carpet company and the crown molding was found in the garage rafters so it was free :P Still trying to decide if I wrap it with a trim line around the center,...
