I picked this kit up about a year ago, it's the RC10 Graphite , #6030. It is brand new in the box, still has the plastic wrap on it. My dilemma is, now that I've had it for a year, I don't know what to do with it....lol. I don't know if I should leave it as is, untouched, unopened, or open it and build it. I'm guessing it's more valuable if I leave it as is and sealed? Should I leave this one alone, and find a different one to use as a runner?
I often look at buying NIB kits that I owned in the 90s but i always think "what the hell am I gonna do with it?" just leave it there sitting in its box.
One dream would be to wrap them up and open them on xmas day!
Keep it sealed and/or sell it. Find yourself a runner
That's basically where I am at. I was looking for a decent "G" when I came across this one through a friend so I jumped on it. Now a year later after it still sits in the closet and I've done nothing with it......is the dilemma...lol
while the temptation might be fantastic, I look at these types of finds from a decidedly profit view. You can get a ton more money for that guy keeping it sealed, and turn the profit into a really sweet graphite roller PLUS other profit OR something else you like; another car, a guitar, a new part for the 1:1 car, etc. Is opening bags worth the potential loss of those other things? I dunno, it's your call. To me, it's not.

I feel the same way at times. Here is my solution to the Christmas day surprise.
I give a list of cars / trucks I want (NIB) to a friend of mine. He searches to find them and then let's my wife know which one to get.
Then on Christmas morning I get a NIB kit but totally surprised by what it is.

Hello all - having now become well and truly addicted to RC10 buggies (!!!), I have purchased another to add to my original and CE versions. It's the RC10 Graphite buggy kit 6030. It was NIB except that the transmission had been put together (not...

This is my 6030 6 gear graphite that I purchased a couple years ago new in opened box. As you can see I added a couple hop up parts that I feel fit this car well. The front and rear shock towers are both Composite Craft that were NIP as well as the...

if you need a steering linkage kit, i'm pretty sure i have one (nip).
I figured the only way to get a coffin chassis RC10 Graphite is to have a replica chassis made. Since I have an extra later model RC10 Graphite in nice condition, it seems like a good option for the making a coffin chassis style buggy.

I decided which one gets the skeleton chassis and 48p Thorp 6 gear setup.

I never had one of these versions when I was younger, I went right from the standard 6036 chassis with the AE logo to the B2--but this is what was around Upstate New York when we did get these cars in the last month or two before the b2 was...
