The Changebox was advertised as a 2.61 ratio not 2.65 like I posted above. I got it mixed up with the RPM trans which was 2.65. A 2.61 ratio is still wrong though. 52t diff /20t topshaft is 2.6 even.
Also I got it backwards and the idler is described in the instructions as a 32t but it's actually a 35t gear. And the 35t is not larger than it's supposed to be....it's smaller. I attempted to replace the idler gear with the 34t idler from a Durango buggy and it was too big even though it's 48p and has one less tooth. I had better mesh with a 33t pinion gear I tested.
But you're still right...it shouldn't be possible. Like I said the Changebox trans annoys me.
