Way off topic....Mechanical "Doping" in cycling

Post by GoMachV »

I was just reading about this, how crazy! They are shoving motors down the seat tube and meshing to the crank shaft. Sensors are used to control the speed of the motor depending on demand to keep everything hidden. I would think the battery pack in the water bottle would be a dead giveaway tho haha

If you watch the video, at the end, check out the bike after it gets dropped. It keeps going lmfao!

There have been rumors of this toward Nino Schurter for some time in UCI world Cup XC. The last race I watched he had 2 flats, still finished a very strong 3rd....and in the heat he blistered in the last 100m to win. Racers look for an edge anywhere....but I bet course times start to slow now

That's just pathetic. Are there any sports that still have class at all anymore?
Time to start inspecting the bikes closer every race...tearing them down if necessary. What a joke. Permanent ban for any of them they catch doing that, no suspension, no slap on the wrist...permanent boot.
:?
Although yes, that bike spinning in circles by itself is rather amusing!

The spinning on the ground bike would need to have a hub motor to work as his cranks were not moving, I would be more likely to accept flywheel action from the rear wheel which is at a shallow angle to have made it spin then a motor... But then again I am not a conspiracy nut ;)

The whole unit fits inside the seat tube including the batteries.

This is only the first time it has been proven, I saw this happening at least a couple of years ago.

As a rider when I saw a guy power away from the pack, still sitting, while riding on cobblestones, I

knew it was true.

Cheers, Dave. :)

O.K,

So looking at it again,

There are two different motors, the bottom bracket drive and a rim drive?

Wow, I knew about the bottom bracket drive, but did not know about the rim drive.

This would explain the wheel spinning and turning the bike while it's dropped on its side.

Man, I raced bikes, I was only C grade, but I worked hard for that, riding 250-300 kms per week

including racing, again just to be competitive in C Grade and holding down a full time job.

I didn't cheat anyone.

Saw something on this recently with the flir cam footage.. How light and expensive must the components be.. Great tech even though it's not used in a sporting manner...
