Wish I could work on my speed project, or any project. It's amazing how fast life changes with a kid. Enjoy your time with your toys, I wouldn't change it for anything though.
Miss this place!
As soon as he refines his motor skills...I'll be back! No! WE will be back
I look at my 2 unfinished projects and miss the tinkering & fabricating too...but in the summer months, the 1:1 cars get all the time, money & attention. We have long enough winters as it is, so the RC projects will have to wait their turn.
More like enjoy the kids while you can, the cars will be there. When my kids were very young I had time to tinker with stuff a bit while watching them. Then as they were a bit older it was exciting having them help and start driving. I must say it is hard to compete with all the internet and electronics these days. It seems like the prime time has come and gone already as my son is now 14 and football, friends, girls are front row. It seems like we just got to the point where he could hold his own with me using the same setups and racing with each other was fun. This summer I think he put one pack through it and didn't get the bug like I thought. My daughter is 9 and still likes to putt around with me but she would rather design and help paint the bodies.
Hes about to turn 7, and got an electric plane for Christmas, he can fly it. But for now I land it.
He really wanted my SC10gte so I bought him a slash 2wd and we bash around together. Its great. I hope to get back into more custom builds with him helping real soon.
My cars are often re-bodied with different tires to suit my whims. None are built for the shelf. Over the years I've found one particular manufacturer you can really depend on.

Good call temple, that appears to be exactly what it is. The measurements on tower match the ones I am getting. Could that have happened at the factory, or would it have to have been intentional? Thanks guys.

I think most of us like me played with Tyco or Nikko RC cars as kids which bridged into bigger and better things as we grew up. So I got to thinking about those RCs and wondered would it be possible to upgrade these to better equipment? They would...

There's a guy on RCGROUPS Forum called Nowinaminuite who had done a few and there's no doubt you can dramatically improve them , there's increasing interest in the vintage RTR cars with some fetching good money on eBay , I'd suggest that if you find...
I found Ultimate RC forum through the YouTube videos. But since I'm new to RC, I'm wondering which current-tech forum(s) are considered by the experienced folks to be worthy. I lean towards good info and...

The only other r/c forum I'm on is Ultimate R/c. However it's a popular forum for teenagers (such as me), and they cause problems sometimes. The lounge got shut down because they couldn't keep it civil, threads get shut down when an argument gets...
Should there be play when i mount my axel drive gears to the drive gear pivot after i install the button head screws or do i need to shim them so they are tighter? (approx step 42 in the original...
