Parma Euro Panther project - Chris Arnold special

Red wheels added also. Rear wheels use 5-40 screws as early Associated RC12E wheels. So regular steel screws are used, no aluminium screws.
For the front wheels I found regular ball bearings don´t work. Parma front wheels need much smaller 1/4" OD bearings.
This means the project will stop here.

At some point I mentioned I will keep with white color scheme for most of the plastic parts but there will be red parts also.
OK this now where the special red parts will be added.

The Red wheels are rare . Most of time, I see them in yellow.

I think Parma wheels are hard to find anyway but the red wheels were not sold. These were dyed red by Chris Arnold and just used by him.

This Parma car has odd place for rear body mounts, since they are in "moving part"= in rear suspension. This requires a little bigger body mounting holes to rear that allows the rear end to "live".

The Parma modified dry magnet motor is a little different than those I have seen before. The sticker and it's placement (90-degrees rotation) are a different then e.g. here:

Well you have to see this is a 1984 car so not that much younger than a RC12i and before the RC12L. The Delta car was way ahead of it´s time.
But maybe the reason was, the Parma rear pod had to be used and the whole car should look similar to existing Parma cars. This was one of the tasks when Chris was allowed making his own car.

The motor is a factory motor, not production I think. So anything could be different. I know a lot of factory motors (any brand) came without stickers.

How is the T-bar mounted to the chassis? Is there e.g. washers between them or does all T-bar flex come from area between the damper post/chassis and motor pid?

The t-bar is mounted directly to the chassis, no washers or o-rings. The t-bar doesn´t move at all just flexes behind the chassis edge. Exactly the same as with the Super Phaser. Chris told me in the beginning he wanted a floating t-bar similar to the Schumacher car but this didn´t work at all for this car. When he removed everything and mounted directly to the chassis the car was good.

Received the special bearings for the front wheels now. This size is very unusual.

Front wheels mounted to the Parma Euro Panther Chris Arnold Special. This project is finished now. I decided not to continue with adding electronics beside the Parma Yokomo Ferrari motor, so details of chassis won´t be hidden.

Final picture also. Remember, this is a replica car using original parts. So could have been one of the cars built during prototype stage.

Glad you like that car. I think one of the reasons why that Euro Panther looks so special and beautiful are the red wheels.
They make a big difference, at least in my opinion.

Good to see old Parma’s! I have had Euro Panther since late 80’s. I broke the carbon rear axle before I got the car even running and it’s been boxed since. Does anyone know where I could get new axle or if any other axle fits?

A lot of cars did use an Associated rear axle but I don´t know for the Euro Panther. The one I used for this project was given to me by Chris Arnold, so maybe a special one. Best bet would be a search on Ebay USA but I fear Parma 1/12 scale parts are not an easy find today. Trinity also sold option parts for several cars so this might be worth for another search.
