You can use the Kyosho ZX-R MKII C hubs to create the wide front end.
I believe they have the same part number as the MKI hubs however

OK "MR. Obvious'" long time listener first time caller --Some times im such a dumb beaner --I took both my lazers off the wall and I have a MK1 and A MK11. The Mk1-LA27,Mk11-LA59---

Decided to install a motor in this for now, so that it won't roll off the shelf!
Even though it has the B4 slipper to make it brushless compatible I installed the following motor because it is blue and matches the rest of the car













I also got my hands on a pair of front white super stars, and managed to source a pair of rears in black, so I dyed all of them black (just incase the rears changed color a little) and installed with Schumacher tyres, the offset of the fronts is different to the Kyoshos and makes the car wider, these would work well with a narrow front end setup, which is what my ZXR Carbon Tub shelfer will have, so these wheels will be going on that project, though my plans always change it seems ....















Still need to swap the shock towers over but have to re-think where I should be locating the ball joints on the shock towers first, what are the rules of thumb to apply? I'm not sure if I got it right or not with my initial setup or what the "right" or "wrong" position by definition is

I was running a 480st in my swb mid before it went to feebay. WOW, pretty fast on lipo power.

Yes thats what I mentioned in my post, the offset of the HPI wheels is different to the Kyosho wheels, so its too wide for a front end in the wide configuration but for Lazer ZX or ZX-R MKI configuration would work well

I still haven't finished this project off (nor any of the projects I started ...)

In trying to put as much Lazer DNA as possible into this project I decided to have a different motor brace made which looks like a Lazer piece.
The new one is on the left and the original one I had made will be going onto the Turbo Optima Mid SE-X



Installed the recess lines up perfectly with the layshaft making it look just right.







I need to swap the ZXR-S shock towers on, and then try and figure out how to trim the ZX-S shell to fit and if I need a new chassis made or not

I have a ZX-S shell for it, just deciding which shock towers to finally settle on for it.
I have an alloy version of the rear shock tower that has been anodised blue that may go on along with a ZX-S style CF front tower but I have others to pick from too

I'm planning on using the towers you designed when I rebuild this.
I have some titanium hinge pins for it now and plan to switch to all titanium fasteners as well as shorten the layshaft so a gear cover fits over it.
