Brushed motor setup solder help

I can’t figure out how to solder them to the case of the motor. There is no hole or tab and the Solder won’t stick to the metal. I’m using Rosin core solder. The plastic has two notches but nothing to bite too.

You are missing a screw and eyelet on the first pic in that empty hole... Ring is probably not fixed right. This is where you'd solder the caps btw.

It looks like a stock motor, or at least locked timing where tabs lock the endbell to the can, so screws and a timing ring aren't necessary to secure the endbell.

I usually take my dremel and make a small grindmark on the case. Once you’ve got new exposed metal, the solder will stick

Honestly, if you're running with modern 2.4ghz radio gear, I wouldn't run the capacitors. 2.4ghz is unlikely to pick up interference from the motor, and it just looks nicer without them.

Ahh, ok. In that case, the capacitors would probably be a good idea. Looks like the "how to" part is already covered pretty well above

I was surprised it wasn't easy to find a "How To" online. You would think the motor would come with something. My ESC came with a huge manual. I am using a Futaba Attack R, the same radio I had when I was a kid. Found one in mint condition.

I have a vintage setup with 75 MHz AM Futaba 2PD and a brushed motor setup. What are the capacitor types and sizes recommended? I recall using two disc capacitors and one barrel capacitor. But, what are the microfarad sizes of them?

It's not critical. Usually around .1uf. I would use three ceramic or poly caps, .15uf. one from each terminal to the case and one across the terminals.
