I have an old RC10GT that I've been working on converting to electric. I bought it new in 2002 or so. Nitro just became too much of a hassle/annoyance for me, and with today's brushless systems it seemed like a no-brainer. It's a work in progress.
I made all of the bare aluminum parts. There are some things I would like to change, so I'm hoping for rev 2 shortly. I wanted to show my work here where there is a relevant crowd and also get any input on the project!
It's really falling apart though. The plastic around the rear mounting holes is completely missing, and I kinda bastardized it when I was younger by cutting huge holes in it for the nitro engine. Any idea where to get an affordable replacement? I think one of those with the little rear wing would be cool. I'm just not sure which ones will fit. Are other RC10's compatible (eg. T4)?
I hope to share some good stuff and learn some new things here.
Hi guys, I'm Howard.
I live in Livermore, California.
I enjoy traveling and fishing.
I don't know where to start, I want an RC that my son can play outside with on the road, maybe on the grass, not entirely sure.
I want it to be able to take a...

I second the recommendation of a Slash. Pretty durable and replacement parts are inexpensive. Not trying to discourage you but this hobby is expensive and $100 won’t go far.
I am a newbee to RC, but getting long in the tooth at age 77. I am need of some technical info and a search led me to this site. I hope you are not put off by the fact that I am not building a model car. But a science experiment has led...
Just wanted to say a quick hello, I am going to be digging up my old cars from my dad's place in the next few weeks, so I should have some cool pics of some old stuff, I'm hoping I can find all of it. I used to be really into RC in the mid to late...
So I raced in early 90's with my older brother. He had the original gold pan and then I got the original 10T. I ended up purchasing another gold pan and a graphite in the late 90's.
My son (3 years old) was watching some kids in the neighborhood...

Welcome! Post some pictures of your car/s!
All I have to do now a days is Google RC10gt manual and click on TAs site. Same for all the cars I work on it seems.
I don't know why I was thinking about this, but I was pondering why it was that the American RC revolution or industry seems to have originated out in California back in the 70s and 80s. What was wrong with the rest of the country? You had (or still...

Some more info from Wiki:
In the early 70s several commercial products were created by small firms in the US. Most of these companies began as slot car companies and with the wane in popularity of that genre moved into the R/C field. Among these...
My neighbor called the other day asking if I wanted some old RC cars..I took them for my grandson. Most were just parts and transmitters, but in the box was a complete car. Not knowing anything about RC I did some searching. Turned out to be an RC10...
