I installed the Factory Works rear arm mount, dyed bulk head, and DHAWK aluminum rear arm mounts. I was out of black 8-32 screws so used red ones for now. Trans. is ready to be assembled as soon as I machine some spacers for it!

Looks great so far Nomad. Be careful of that dye as it can sometimes stain adjacent parts. I will often make packing tape gaskets to prevent dyed parts from staining other nylon, G10, or anno'd parts. Whatever that dye touches, it will be stained forever.

Thanks for the tip, Doug. I've always rinsed the dyed parts with cold water after dyeing and then used Windex to clean the part. Don't know if the Windex is needed but do it anyway.

Time to build the transmission. I have Avid bearings, with the exception of the 3/8 x 5/8 witch are from AE, #9601 top shaft with #6570 Idler Gear. I think I'm going to sand the diff rings before assembling.

Ohh, crap! I'm out off the diff. rebuild kits (#9351). Serious goof, I'd bought everything else needed. Good old Ebay to the rescue!

I like tools, the cooler the better!

Yes, B5/B6 shocks, KASHIMA coated bodies with Ti Nitride coated shock shafts. Using Exotex bottom caps and top rings.

Yes, it came while I was away (hospital visit!) so I'm just getting back into it now. Updates will be soon!

NomadRacer wrote: Mon Mar 25, 2019 2:59 pm While I was installing the steering bell cranks I found the shims for the bottom of the bell crank bushing nuts to be a little bit out of wack. One shim being thicker than the other. I fixed this with some T.O.P. Racing 1mm thick aluminum shims for pan car rear axles. These parts are a bit hard to find now a days.

XLR8- The weather is getting just about right for some outdoor painting.
I really like this Idea, the stock plastic ones are nasty, I think Schumacher make some also for pan cars U4971.
Its also a good idea to put a thin 1/4" shim under the plastic nut head. The original worlds car came with this. It will seem fine without but it will rapidly create play.

The build is really looking good :D
