Picked this up locally. Originally it was “new unbuilt” but when I popped the box open- surprise! Half built. Ugh. After expressing my disappointment we ended up at a much reduced price I finished the build along with the included Futaba radio. Just need to paint the body (story of my life lol)

So I am curious.
How was the quality of the Penguin body?
Does it look as though there was a fair amount of foreign debris on the mold causing small bumps?
I haven"t peeled back the overspray film to see if the bumps on my Protech show through.
Still have more painting to go.

Hi Chuck. The body I received isn't perfect but I guess it's okay. The first thing that greeted me when I pulled it from the bag was the odd waviness and a dimple just below the windscreen. There are other flaws that I'm not able to capture with my camera.radioactivity wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 9:08 pm XLR8

If I were planning to pay for a professional paint job, I would be concerned about it. I'll shoot this one myself with one color (white) then plaster it with decals so most of the imperfections won't be visible (I hope).
As a point of reference, I've built a few of the Kyosho re-release kits and their buggy bodies are absolutely flawless.

Thanks mate, much appreciated... another good friend managed to identify it as HPI, but that specificity will definitely help.
Thanks mate, I'm thinking that this will be the perfect chassis to fit the Protoform Peugeot P905B body I have, that is too low for my other pan car. What I do with it after that, though...... no clue! It is a nice chassis though, and the red alloy bits are very cool.GeneralZod wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 12:18 pm Looks like a good project on that pan car! Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Well, this one did come in the mail
Picked up this lot recently from another forum... can't believe it slipped through the cracks as much as it did!!! Parts list includes:
3 x Futaba S9151 Digital Servo, in retail packaging
3 x Futaba S9101 Ballbearing Servo, in retail packaging
2 x Tamiya TEU-101BK Brushed ESC, in retail packaging
1 x Tamiya TBLE-02S Brushless / Brushed ESC, in OEM packaging
ALL NEW.
Very pleased.... considering that the amount I paid for the lot, posted, is a little under half the price of just one of the S9151 servos!
