Here's another Ultima I've been slowly working on. Little bit kin-worlds-y with its hard ano'd shocks and black, white, and blue theme. Yet, old school also if I stay with the 1.5 and 1.9 Scorpion wheel and tire combo.

The title pretty much says it all. Why did Kyosho's new Ultima dominate the '87 Worlds? Was Associated too overconfident or taken by surprise? Did the track suit the Ultima's design better? Was it all just down to tires? Any thoughts?

Thinking about Kyosho not putting enough R&D after the 87' win, maybe the effort was more towards the 1/8 car....look how many times they won that WC?

I heard from my friends who bought the rere Worlds car (including me).....all of them got problems in the gear box

- the inner slipper plate hits on the motor plate
- the 3 internal gears not smooth.....something like the gears are elliptical so...

seems that the top shaft is causing the trouble.....both the top shaft gear & the flat surfaces of slipper contact.... :(

I met with Michael Vitec Siebenelch last Friday for an evening out with the Siebenelch treated cars. We have an indoor track near Hamburg which is located with an old glasshouse. The track is not the very best since it has a hogh grip...
