Chances are, that was the source of your turning radius issue. All the flex was preventing you from getting adequate travel.
It was after fitting the new steering components that it under steered , it was caused by two things , firstly I was using Scorpion 2014 medium front tires and they are way too hard so I've switched to soft and secondly the servo horn was tiny but I've simply upped the travel to 120% and between the two I now have good lock .
I did have a nightmare yesterday , after driving it in the road and in y front garden I came in and found I'd lost the drop link for the anti roll bar as the ball had come unsoldered from the bar ! it took three searches but I found it on the path ! now well soldered on !

Is that all paint, or are there decals used too? That looks very nice
Just paint , I did use pre-cut stick on masks for the paint drops and splashes but they all get peeled off , just like using masking tape but shaped .

Sorry never driven an astute , nearest thing I've driven was a Mardave Meteor and that was over 30 years ago , this is more refined than the Meteor , better balanced , probably because the RC10 is heavier it makes its suspension work better , also more rigid by miles .
I'm looking forward to giving it a good workout soon to get a better impression .

Now that u got it done how does an RC10 compare to lets say an Astute? we gotsta know
Well, I believe history answers that for you.
The Astute was released in 1989. The original platform RC10 won 3 more IFMAR championships since then, before the B2 was released. Tamiya, zero.
But let's be honest, the original RC10 is likely the most iconic RC car of all time. Even most younger generations of hobbyists know one when they see them.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.
Hi Dadio,
Nice job getting this Buggy back on the road!
RC10's never handled good on the street, they understeer like crazy. But on the dirt they work.
Also, hard to tell from your pics. But it almost looks like you are running some SRB positive Camber on the rear?
If you are, get rid of it and put the rear suspension to manual spec
Have fun,
Brian

....but if Masami drove the Astute it could have won?
not meaning to hijack Dadios thread....just wondering

There was a little + camber on the rear , sorted now , I think the turnbuckles are too long as I can't get much less than neutral camber so I'll have to trim them a little .
The blue on the paintwork really POP'S in the sunshine , really pleased with how it looks in motion , not sure if I'm going to put decals on it or not right now .it's funny how pictures warp the colour , the striping is pearl orange and pearl white but it looks yellow and white in pictures , I used the orange as a deliberate nod to box art and in real life it's very orange !

I'm pretty sure that I use 30mm turnbuckles on the rear of all my cars. They fit the front camber links to (short arm).

I have been rebuilding my old RC10 A stamp that I had when I was a kid in the 80s. It's almost ready to run, but I have a few questions, if you fine folks could help me out. I've been trying to find the answers myself, but have not had much...

Home Depot sells internal retaining clips but I don't remember if they've got the right size for the shocks. I know they've got the correct size for the 6-gear outdrive gears.
Hi all, great forum here!! My dad and I (mostly my dad) built my first gold pan RC10 when I was like 13 years old. Its a 6010 Caddilac I believe. Back then I didnt really care about anything but driving the car. I raced it indoors 1 time in...

Yeah, my eyes are bigger than my wallet right now....I want to restore mine, pick up one (Vintage) to fix up and run, and build a B4.1 or something to really play around with...
two questions.
First, my buggy currently has the blue shocks on it. Is it worth it to switch over to the hard coated bodies? I have a set of fronts and can get the rear ones for a decent price but i'm not sure if its worth it.
Well, after collecting too many Tamiyas, a couple Kyoshos and a stack of RC10s, a Losi finally found a way into my garage courtesy of a good friend. Being totally new to Losi products I have a few questions to start. Losi buggies always touted...

Well I'm about ready to paint two RC10 bodies, a Protech and a Viper. I've painted two bodies before, a HPI Challenger with window masks and a Protech. I had a real hard time masking off the windows for the Protech and never did get it quite right....

I am trying a new method with a couple of bodies; trace the window lines with a Sharpie on the outside, then follow the inside with some 1/8 detail tape. Once that's all lined up, fill in the center with a bigger section of masking tape, or liquid...
Owned this car since NIB, gold shocks came with it, called AE twice & they sent me the correct
shocks, all original parts except those missing. I really had a lot of fun restoring this car over the past couple of days, reminded me of when I was 15...

I have the same car, just got it at a garage sale. It has the gold shocks. I think it is an 89 model. On mine however the original owner dyed the parts orange..
