My first Team Losi r/c showed up over the weekend, XXX-T stadium truck. Big thanks to fellow forum member morrisey0 for a good deal.

Ooooooo! I've been drooling over those rere Turbo Optimas for a while. I miss mine that's buried somewhere at parent's house.

The mail brought me the right tool for when the right tool fails you. One car came with a nice Trinity SG Amber motor, but also a stuck set screw that was deformed beyond working with any allen wrench. Great Planes makes a nice little pinion gear puller that made short work of removing the pinion. Once off, the set screw came out of pinion easily. It must have been overtightened onto the motor shaft.

That’s a heck of a puller. I always used a Parma, basically a slot car pinion puller.

I recognize the wheel hubs. Are the other parts heat sinks for the motor and the motor screws to protect the gearbox housing?

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Those are the motor spacer and the pinion gear cover. The stock plastic spacer on mine has already developed cracks so that’s the main reason..the additional heat dissipation doesn’t hurt either.

After months of looking, and probably a half dozen failed deals, I finally got a version of my first HG car! In better than expected condition no less.

Very cool Robb. What are the plans for it? I coincidentally saw an FX10 for sale recently, don't remember where, but wonder if that was the one.
