If those wheels are too big you might try some Tamiya m-chassis size wheels. They are a little smaller but also 12mm hex.

I wasn't aware of the Tamiya m-chassis cars. Do you have one? If so, could I get a measurement of how tall the wheel/tire assembly is? It might not be any smaller than these TC3 wheels (2.45"). They look oversized because they are 1/10 scale on a 1/12 scale car.

The old shell is in pretty good shape but was in need of some stickers. I resisted the urge to add bullet holes this time and stuck with some vintage AE, Novak, and Protoform decals.

Oddly, the alien/Roswell/Area51 stickers are from a TC3 sticker sheet. After seeing the headlight stickers on the body, I figured I had a place to use the alien stuff too.

I finally got to roll around the house a bit with the 4 cell battery. Wow, the dogs hate this car! They treat it like it's basically the same thing as the vacuum cleaner and feel the need to get in front of it and 'bark in its face'. The low ground clearance combined with the bulky battery straps limit the driving domain to non-carpet areas of the home (thicker than office carpet). Without traction compound, both the front and rear foam tires do a lot of sliding.

After that run, I swapped on the rubber touring car tires. The extra 1/4" of ground clearance and added grip were both noticeable improvements for this trial run. I then tried a little driveway driving and found that at higher speeds the rear didn't have enough grip and it would spin out when turning. I'll have to try shifting the battery to the full aft position.

I was considering a polycarbonate Midnight Pumpkin replacement body, but missed out on a reasonably priced one. However I think the Sabula Tech Bolink BL2033 Truk-R body will work out nicely.

Some functional bling for the motor pod came in the mail. I think all cars should have motor heatsinks if possible, and I really like Litesinks.

Don't worry about shifting the batteries position, just add two more cells to the current battery

I have enough cells, I could do the other extreme and build up a 10 cell pack. I'd have to change out to a more stout ESC then though.

I tried to stay a little faithful to the 1/12 scale class with the 4 cells, at least for now.
