My neighbor's 15 year old Shepherd, Chip. I looked after him at their place most weekends for the past 10 years while they visited their 2 daughters. He had to be put down for multiple health issues a couple of weeks ago. He was a good buddy. Head the size of a horse. He would eat rib bones like they were potato chips.
Sorry about your buddy passing, it definitely hurts when the time comes. When my wife's first dog Misty got sick with an autoimmune disease (she already had her when we first met), I had to take her to vet to get put down. And man did watching her go down hit me really hard, I balled like a sissy little school girl. I still get teared up thinking about it.

Dogs aren't simply pets, they are family - like our kids.
I honestly don't mean to be unaffectionate at all. I have/had a few dogs which I strongly care for and love on a certain level, but I'll never feel nor have love for a pet as I do for my own child, not even remotely close. I honestly feel it's absurd if someone does.
My mom always referred to Sadie as her “grand-doggy”.
I think it’s possible to fully love and care for the family dog without loving and caring for other family members less – every member receiving 100%.
I did all the work today, and he has the nerve to fall asleep on the way to the shop.
Full story: saw this big guy running free, scooped him up to get him out of traffic. Coworker took him home to find his owners with social media or possibly give him a home.

We recently had some devastating news of our last litter of puppies, three of them have developed a rare degenerative genetic neural condition , they are losing control of their back legs and this will spread , probably they won't get more than another year , I feel sick , we don't breed for money but love of dogs and to have three of five pups affected is truly sickening , the other two should be ok if nothing shows in the next few months , evidently each pup has a one in ten chance of developing it , you feel from that that it's should only affect one of them but that's not how it works , neither my wife or I ever feel like we could breed again and Em must carry the gene so she can never have pups again . It's been a very low time for us and I can only see it getting worse as their conditions deteriorate , sorry to drop a downer on this beautiful thread .

I did not click like because I can feel how sad it is... But I can definitely relate what this means as my wife was having talk with many breaders during pets exposition (one of our white swiss shepperd even claimed a french senior championship during one of those contests (and if you search for it, it was never validated as the white swiss shepperd french association just made sure they only give this title officially to professional breaders)), and she is generally very attentive with the breader selection when it comes to get a puppy: there is some breader out there known to have no afterthoughts about risky business in the matter. And for a professional breader who takes all precautions for this type of things not happening, when it is happening, this is devastating: beside the business, they are really attentive to the life quality of thier puppies, and some of them get the affected puppies back (and reimbourse their owners) to find them a new family which will help even though there is a disease... Hope those are having nice and loving family, as this is key in such a situation... And for the downer, don't worry, we all know this can happen when we are taking dogs: they are family members, and it goes with this events as well...

we actually used a professional stud male who was supposed to have had genetic testing , it takes both dogs to have the gene for the puppies to be affected , we have spoken with the stud owner and explained this and recommended they stop using him as a stud but they are either ignoring it or not understanding it because he is still on the market , maybe they just don't care !

Soem actually don't care, and that's even more sad... And if it is still on the market, you may have a doubt on their honesty... They may be aware of this long before you actually contacted them

That just makes me feel even more sick , profiteering and deliberate breeding for characteristics that win contests but destroy the dogs health ,just the worst sides of dog breeding .
The whole reason my wife started breeding was because we bought a dog from a shop and it came from a puppy farm , she had fear aggression due to bad early experience , was a bad time and my wife decided to breed and do it right , all our pups are born in the house and live in the kitchen until they are big enough to play in the garden, front garden where they hear traffic and see delivery men etc , all our friends play with them , our children and grandchildren , neighbours children play with them , we like to think our pups socialising leaves them bomb proof but we never thought of genetic testing .

Some of you may remember this car others not so much. I have had this one on the shelf for a while and just couldn't stand to look at it no more so I got busy on it. I tore the transmission apart and completely cleaned and re greased it. I did the...

a dealer of Sanyo battery had this SE version. and it was displayed in their shop at the time. I asked them to sell that to me. but they wouldn't. and that one was stolen by somebody. NOT by me
I like 1st gen. 834B and later wonder dog too....
That's hilarious! Where did they get the horn thing I wonder?
Post-processing, I'm betting. That video seemed to have a lot of editing and stuff added afterwards...which is something that annoys me sometimes.
Like I really needed this but I just couldn't pass this one up. It's a beautiful boat made of wood made by Vietmanese craftsman toiling under harsh conditons and probably not making more in a day than my can of coke cost from the vending machine....
