Another impeccable build from you. I can always tell your builds apart. They all have a similar feel of perfection, lol.
Keep it up. Glad you get to enjoy such a build over Christmas break.

Yeah man. You always pop in and drop some really good stuff. Your builds are all next level and packed with goodies. I like zooming in and scarfing eyeloads of the details.
Hope you're doin' something fun.

Re: RC10Lss Ground Effects
Thanks! Believe it or not, I did find many of those parts on Ebay...but had to buy an entire roller just to get one or two. But some parts like the chassis I've found in various Fb groups. It takes a while to piece everything together, and sometimes I even have to swap parts from other builds just to finish another one.

Panasonic used to make theirs with purple shrink wrap.

Re: RC10Lss Ground Effects
Yep. I remember when they were first released, RCCA race coverage (can't recall the race) noted that "those purple cells were everywhere", so I bought a matched set for my CAT2000. By the standards of the day, it would run "forever" The irony is that I didn't need them. My batteries never dumped since I was upside down for at least 2 out of every 5 minutes I raced.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 10:48 am Panasonic used to make theirs with purple shrink wrap.

Re: RC10Lss Ground Effects
Dave- How did it work? Is it a spoiler for airflow under the body? Or is it a diffuser? Both?

Re: RC10Lss Ground Effects
I believe the idea was that the chassis would create more downforce for better handling. I never actually raced one, so I have no idea how well they worked.

Re: RC10Lss Ground Effects
I found this pic of another RC10L ground effects chassis. It is similar, but not an LTO. In this iteration, the rear section is definitely acting as a diffuser. It would be fascinating to learn if they were effective.

Re: RC10Lss Ground Effects
I recently built a 10L speed run car with that Tecnacraft Aero-trac rear pod and a slightly different Ground Effects chassis. I can't say how effective either part will be while sitting on the shelf.
