The "prototype RC10" Jay drove in modified at the 1985 IFMAR worlds seems a bit mysterious.
Here's an excerpt from Gene's "Inside Story on the RC10" posted by AE. Notice the last paragraph:
Inisde story on the RC10 by Gene Husting.JPG
Did he mean "...turn an RC10 into a 4WD car."? Anyway, I wonder why Gene didn't mention this in the video Jeff referenced. ... or maybe he mentioned it elsewhere in the series?

https://www.associatedelectrics.com/about/inside_story_on_rc10/

Anyway, I'm amazed that Jay could take such a crude conversion, first time out, never driven, and finish 2nd in the biggest RC race in the world.

Then shortly after the 10T came out the stealth case halves became in stock and available. It seems like this is how Associated does things right now.
.
Are the rest of the parts to make a stealth tranny available?

By the way, Amain has the Halsey preorder for $10 less than AE, and you can use the monthly $30 off coupon. Brings it down to $349 8) already nabbed mine

Dang it! 😂

$30 off coupon? I don't remember ever getting that from Amain.

I just search amain coupons, they have them every month. Here's the link.... https://www.amainhobbies.com/discount-coupon-code

They also have a 10% off which doesn't happen all that often. One use but you can load up the cart!

I haven't researched this yet but the blue sorta looks like Tamiya PS-16. Maybe those who have made a replica can chime-in and provide some guidance.
That does look like PS-16 Metallic Blue.

The motor stickers, and the correctly scaled JG decal for the hood are too cool, going to have to have at least one of these. Really hope they make those front tires available for parts, I've read there was nothing better back then than that particular knobby design, by a few different accounts.

I get an email every few days with the monthly coupons.

But Associated items are usually blocked from coupons (along with Traxxas, Losi, Custom Works, and others). For whatever reason, some items slip through.

I went ahead and ordered mine with the discount.

Does A-Main charge you when you pre-order or once it ships? Will they honor the 10% off coupon on the Halsey pre-order? It works in my cart for the Halsey kit but doesn't on the DS kit because it says, "Note: Manufacturer does not allow coupons".

So far the yz10 and the Halsey are the only two AE that have allowed the coupon, and I was able to get my yz10 using a monthly coupon. It may be that they forgot to add that, or maybe preorders allow it for some reason. They do charge you right away for the backorder. My Halsey is done and paid and I don't expect any issues.

In another group someone pointed out another body beside it, the pic with the decals, you can just see the tip of it at the front.

I wonder if that's a hint at another rere coming, maybe the CE?

A few years ago, someone posted a stack of images from the 85 Worlds on FB. I don't remember who it was, or which group they were in. But, there was a pic of Jay's car with a stars and stripes paint job. Could be a possibility. It looks like the corner of a Protech body.
