If I had a mantle with a wedding picture of my wife & I...and this car came along, the picture would have to find a new home. What brand are those link ends or are they custom made?

Many thanks.
I did set the car on the middle of the dining room table for a few days.
My better half just laughed! Thank goodness she puts up with my sense of humor.
The tie rod ends are from a seller on the bay. Only bad thing about them is that they are all right hand threads.

^^ Mostly dollars and patience!
Looking for something to work as shock ends and that's the only plastic left. To make sure the metal theme holds true, I forgot to mention the Robinson metal idler and one of these:

Dayum, you are full of surprises... where are you finding this stuff? You said you found a metal idler gear? I have the metal diff gear from HG on my B3, too, but have never seen a metal idler gear.

Re: Gold pan whole lotta metal build.
I remember the LHS getting in those HG gears for the electric guys. Pricey at the time and not alot of local people thought highly of HG...kinda like todays GPM. Got a few myself and have to remember to go looking for them someday. They are in cars except for the most recent one that went into my Walt's case. They are still out there. I usually see the SOLD ads for them every once in awhile.
As for the build askbob, do you mind sharing how much $ goes into something like this build? if its not something you want to reveal I would understand and respect that decision also...

http://www.rcplanet.com/Robinson_Racing_Steel_Idler_Gear_RC10GT_p/rrp2213.htm This idler works in the old stealth.
I picked up a few of the HG diff gears by a lucky google search last summer. I haven't seen one anywhere before or since.
Todd, I really don't know the amount I spent on this build as I'm kinda afraid to count the exact dollar figure.
I do know that is has been a lot of fun finding parts and putting together what I have pictured in my mind. Even more fun has been getting to know people around here that have many of the same interests and same sick obsession with the 10.
The latest pics are taken with my iphone in poor light. I really need to have someone with photography skills do it justice.

Some really good info in there and for your pix already I'm not thinkin quality is out of the average guys(me) expectations.askbob wrote: I really need to have someone with photography skills do it justice.

C'mon Bob just tell us the same thing you told your wife: "About 20 bux.".

Re: Gold pan whole lotta metal build.
Love it, so true. It guess I can speak on behalf of my own gold metal build which had money tied up in some rare exotic metal parts, one pair of which I traded a whole black pan roller for. So that build was *gulp* ..... up there. Bob's has a lot more machining and he tracked down some rare parts too, plus he did some anodizing.THEYTOOKMYTHUMB wrote:C'mon Bob just tell us the same thing you told your wife: "About 20 bux.".![]()
Bob, I should have posted this in my original message last night about you finding the metal HG gears.

Who made the aluminum transmission housing? Is it custom machined or a purchase item - I don't remember seeing these anywhere. Very inspiring project!

Re: Gold pan whole lotta metal build.
A big thanks to Joe for completing the remainder parts in aluminum! Shock ends that is.
Finally got around to getting the wing done(Jakes wing mounts), Chris(REC) knock-offs, more fitting nuts on the bellcranks, and the slipper plates anodized. Going to cut a clear Protech and get it outside for some decent pics.

Re: Gold pan whole lotta metal build.
That is an amazing piece! Too bad there weren't any aluminum cages for the RC10's like there are now for everything, seems a waste to cover it with lexan now!
