Clean parts real good with soap and water, or with an ultra-sonic cleaner. Then submerge and soak them in 12% hydrogen peroxide for a day or two or three, and put in direct sunlight as long as possible. Duration of time will depend how yellowed the parts are. Then soak in water for at least a few days to rehydrate the parts , this will help keep them from being brittle.

Brushed them tossed them in some dilluted simple green in my ultrasonic cleaner and then brushed them again when i took them out. These weren't horribly discoloured like I've seen some others just a bit dirty. Didn't do the peroxide bath on this stuff.
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

I have my doubts on the durability of this particular material But I mounted up my own set of wheels inspired by the Prolines of old.

0500 leave out for one of our tracks larger indoor races that had a disappointingly small turnout

In the dark with only glowing barriers, fun for onroad maybe. Offroad, with my luck and already poor vision during the day as it is, I'll nose dive into a triple or jump off track and break everything..........RogueIV wrote: ↑Sun Jun 08, 2025 1:36 amThat would be pretty funDangeruss wrote: ↑Sun Jun 08, 2025 12:18 amOOO... I wasn't real sure where to put this. Interesting but not really new topic worthy.

Well... I finally got around to putting these classics out on display.
The difference between good and great, is just a little bit more...

Oooo, very nice display! But now I have a question. Is that PCM radio used with one of these three?Dustydrone wrote: ↑Mon Jun 09, 2025 7:49 pm Well... I finally got around to putting these classics out on display.

The PCM actually lives with a vintage RC10 CE. It's just a cool display piece.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Mon Jun 09, 2025 7:54 pmOooo, very nice display! But now I have a question. Re: So, what did you do RC today?
I haven't done a motor rehab in a while, so it seemed like a good idea.
I had a 1st gen Reedy Radon from a parts lot that had clearly been overheated some.
After tearing it down, I don't think it was run much. The brushes and comm were glazed but otherwise in good shape. I went ahead and cut the comm one pass.
I replaced the shaft end bushing with a bearing. The endbell uses a weird spherical bushing, so I cleaned it up with Brasso.
Disassembled the endbell to clean and polish everything. It actually had threaded spring posts and brass inserts.
Polished the can, set the endplay, and reassembled it with new brushes and springs. I was able to save the original caps so I reused them.
The original decal had seen better days, so I used this MCI that I had.

Slammed that Cirrus clear servo into the SWB TRX-1. Kind of a corny theme of clear-to-smoky electronics, but if you got 'em all, why not? "shoulder shrug emoji"
Hope you're doin' something fun.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
That's a really cool buggy! Does it have a paint job already? Could have a light colored front to darker back theme. Or flames in the front making smoke towards the back. Yeah, THAT would be real simple to paint.
