Crap, I need to stop looking at this thread. It's full of all kinds of motors I don't have and have never seen before.

The motors that got my collection started were a pair of minimally used Black Magics.

I keep telling myself that a nice Reedy Modified green label and a nice Twister red label modified (not at highway robbery prices) will round out my collection. But I'm probably just lying to myself. 🤣

These two might draw a little ire from some members. These clearly aren't Kyosho motors. It's just the only decal that went with the blue brush hoods.

Anyways, we have a couple more TOP modifides. One was a Peak Racing, the other a Team Big Block. They are 14X3 and 13X4.

Cleaned everything, polished the hoods, painted the cans, and new MCI decals.

That Dead Pool RC10 would be a cool Jay Halsey tribute car to remake.

The motor label is either removed or just not showing, but it's some sort of Yokomo based modified in there.

This is my fourth ceramic armature motor..... the others being a 20Single, 11Single and a 13Triple.

SRM Scorcher modified, which like MG used the Race Prep ceramic armatures for a short while in around 1990. This one was a bit of a steal, albeit well used condition, so i couldn't really say no. It was sold as a suspected 15Triple but stripping it revealed it as a Double, then when cleaning the endbell with baby wipes I revealed the hand-written 19D spec. Looks to have J H 8 stamped on one of the segments.... This one will be rebuilt and run.

I've always thought you must cross your fingers and hold your breath when tightening a pinion onto a ceramic shaft

I dunno, but there is an 'Ask Mike Dunn anything' RacePrep thead on this forum in which he details the theoretical advantages of the ceramic shafts.

They seem to demand high $$$ at the moment, so when they pop up for a good price i try to bag them, especially if they are a wind i don't have. I have posted others earlier on in this thread.

Revolution "Brutus" 16 x 3....it's not cosmetically perfect by any means but sounds amazing, fastest motor I have so far on my machine....36,100rpm @ 7.2v 3amp

Nice. One of the Revolution range I don't yet have (although one did come in my 834B when I bought it and i haven't removed it to check the spec on it yet).

Anything etched on the can base on it?
