After 25 years, I still own my original RC-10 and a JRX-2 sprint car conversion (bought 3-4 years ago). They each have their good and bad points, but the JRX-2 still looks cheap.

Would AE be Ford and Losi GM?
Well, Ford IS more reliable than GM.
5 million miles and 30 years of outside sales talking.. (My dad's old saying)
He got to drive a LOT of cars on someone else's dime.
LOSI is 2.6 miles from my house. (NO Joke) I think I am going to go by and look around this weekend... maybe snap a few photos and see what they are up to.
Since LOSI sold out (like AE) I doubt they have any old stuff there.. I wonder if they even know what GIL LOSI looks like.

Hmmm....
I can tell you for sure that their old stock has been "clearanced"

Without Team Losi and the JRX2/JRXT,the RC10/RC10T would have languished on with the same design for years.
Who knows how long it would have taken them to release the B2,without Losi!?!
^^^ This. Losi kicked AE right in the butt.
To me the Losi cars were always slightly more exotic than the plain jane offerings from AE. The Jrx2 was a milestone, it came stock with a cf chassis, 48 pitch gears, wide suspension arms and a bunch of other cool stuff. Then came the molded chassis of the second generation cars, which changed how all competitive r/c cars looked.
That's okay, you don't have to like Losi. There are plenty of us who do.
We have a nationwide, internal message board. There are thousands of websites that have people in them..and factory techs. If someone tried to start a Fordtalk site, Ford would sue them. check out this one.
I heard Losi made a metal car.... I liked the RC10 because it doesnt break everytime you jump it... a reason my son's first RC was a Slash. (STILL cant break it) The RC10 caught on because dads got sick of buying Tamiiya parts over and over... run it til you break it.. (30 minutes) Losi pioneered going back to composites and made it work. Someday I will get a JrX2.
Not because of what they offer in recent years but when the JRX2 was released that thing had some SERIOUS street cred here in Australia. Then when the PRO came out even more so.
I can say that I really love the early Losi cars and they really turned up the heat on the competition as has been said here in previous posts.
The rally weapon was never a popular car, I am not suprised you cant get parts for it. As Rick said though, they were based on the street weapon. It was a bizzarre format to release at the time, and it never took off.
Its funny, I am of the same opinion of AE cars, they are nice, but they dont hold the nostalgia value like Losi does for me.
To say that you dont care about Losi is a little harsh, Losi/AE competition has been good for RC as a whole, and will continue to do so...
No matter which one you like, neither one would still be here with out the other. I dont think the RC10 would have been the same with out the introduction of Losi to compete with it. and the same for Losi they both pushed each other to be better. and give us all the great cars we love to collect.
For display car/trucks, will the tire's stay soft and new for long periods of time in the open, or should these vintage rubbers be put away in a sealed bag.

My 2 cents.
Tires in cool dry climates will last much longer than tires in hot climates. I would never store tires in the attic or hot upstairs cupboards.
It is also a good idea to condition them from time to time.
Just want to mention the excellent service after the sale I recently recieved from Glenn at I ordered a set of crp front axles #1552 to use tamiya bearings. Recieved a set of #1553 standard replacement axles by mistake. One email and they were on...
What kinds of car care products do you like? This 03 'burb I bought hasn't been cleaned in I don't know how long. Decided that I'll replace the carpet and floor mats within the next month or two, so I'm not overly worried about deep cleaning. I'd...

On to new projects, which is having some minor bodywork done, paint touched up, and the whole thing buffed and polished. When this is done I need to restore all the exterior plastic trim and that should be about it.
Ok I know it is rc10 based with stealth tranny and a set of mip axles. I know it has new tires and wheels and a lexan body and for the smart asses yest I know its a toy rc car. lol
So the question is what chassis is this and what all info maybe...
My first try at fabbing a chassis. This is as far as Ive gotten. May have to do some REdesigning, but gonna try not to stray to far from here. I want to try a small servo before I redesign anything. Anyone know if a Futaba FP-S32H...

when you go to the hobby shop to buy parts, get there, look around, buy some stuff, and come home. then, you realize that you didn't get the parts that you needed, and they were the whole reason for going in the first place. :x
