Changed some things up, wasn't happy with the steering setup, went with Tamiya DF-02 C-Hubs and steering arms which gave much more area for the dogbones to ride and allowed full steering both ways. Kyosho Scorpion rear axles ride up front with with the 12mm hex adapter....got a super trick set if wheels comin. Kyosho Big Brute non drilled Thorp axles are outback now, had do custom fit them to the A & L rear arms which was scary, but a custom set of flanged 5 x 10 bearings are now going in there....I needed the wide rear axle to get the rear of the car to a proper width with the front, still waiting on some custom clamping hexes for the rear....anyway, it's still progressing but always 1 step forward and 3 back, but I dig working on it, gonna sux when it's finished🥺

Looking good! Those steering components are awesome.

Just a fyi/future reference we do sell trailing arms that use the 10mm flanged bearings… from the Ultima and Mid trailing arm kits.

Got to drive this today, it drives amazing nice!...did have some issues with either the Checkpoint motor or the vintage Tekin esc, haven't trouble shot the situation yet but dropped a bag motor in and 1060 esc to finish the driving test, these are just spare roller wheels/tires, not what's going on it, but the suspension, steering and length, width of the car all worked out well....I did have to steal some front axles from my Tamiya Supershot to get the front end narrower to match the rear

Thanks homz!....yes, I want to drive it often... light running tho...I don't want to scratch it....but mechanically I want to run it hard, not sure the Checkpoint with its tiny brushes will hold up to alot of running, kind of bummed about that..
gonna cut the comm on it and give it another go

Still waiting on wheels and the body from Andy....in the meantime I had this esc, servo and motor laying around so I decided to put it in for better performance....it's an older 21.5 I used to race in 12th scale...the esc has timing and boost so I set them both to 30 degrees each....the receiver is inside the servo for an ultra clean look (discontinued unit, kinda vintage)....the car pulls hard, drives straight and has massive braking....clocks in at 34mph on my Dynamite gps....is everyone gonna hate it for being brushless? I gotsta know

I just hate that Checkpoint brushed motor not being in my collection. Now that it's no longer being used...

34mph on spikes? On the street? Those poor knobbies!

Very nice build. So when do you start mass production?

Lol, thanks, no mass production but it does drive really well,, would love to race it once but I wont...actually I just listed my red 20 turn Checkpoint on Ebay today...If it does well I will list the others in weeks to come....Other than my Le Mans motor collection I like to run all my motors in vintage cars, and the small brushes of the Checkpoints don't allow much running...plus I need to raise some funds for another project🤔

That's a nice looking motor you have listed. So your Checkpoint motor brushes are different from what most other motors of the era used?
