And this is my car after the tear down... Now I know why the steering never worked.

Yeah that came from some fence posts after my tie rod screws fell out and I lost my steering.

Ok one of these pictures is all my 6 gear tranny parts that I recently acquired. Then i show my regular chassi and my custom chassis with a weight comparison of the two. the reegular weighs about 9 oz and the other one with the braces weighs 11oz. My chassis stiffeners weigh 2oz as well for anyone who was wondering exactly what they weighed.

Ok while a wait on some parts to arrive I decided I'd try to figure out which wheels/ tires to run. I did decide to run the 1/4" CVD axles on my car because I had the most rims that would fit that size axle. I'm posting a bunch of pictures of all my tires (both front and rear). The surface I will be running on the most is medium length grass and loose (medium grain) dirt. Most or the rear tires are 2.0" and my primary front tires are 2.2" or also 2.0". Which of these tires would be the best for my surface to get good grip and forward bite while giving better cornering capabilities? :D

I almost forgot that in the overview picture of all my tires that left=biggest and right=smallest.

i say 6 gear and build it with the purple wheels 8) oh and save that chassis and braces.. that would be great stuff for a monster buggy offroad basher just add a 55 turn motor truck wheels and tires (a rc10 on my to build list)

I'm trying to find bearings to fit the purple wheels. They take standard bearings (like traxxas or tamiya)(they are larger than associated's), but the center hole of a standard bearing is too large for my Associated front axles. However the rear rims are sized for 1/4" axles of an rc10. I'm confused. :?

The old adapters that came with the rc10s should do the trick. They are to adapt metric tamiya to use standard bearings.

The wheels probably came with adapters, and were lost.

They came with the early cars so you could run tamiya wheels. They fit in a 11mm hole and have a 5/16 hole in the for your flanged wheel bearings.

Here is a pair on eBay

Just a thought as I was going through my box of broken servos... Would it be possible to put the B2/B3 steering assembly on a goldpan? I like the idea of a servo saver and the cheaper and more availablr parts. Would that even be possible?

Another thought... In place of those adapters for the front wheels, would it be possible to put fuel line over the front axles (to make them bigger) and use the standard size bearings? Would that cause a problem or would the adapters just make more sense?

Funny you mention the fuel tubing idea, my mechanic suggested something like that as a shortcut for an actual fix to. Worked great for a block-

How is adding rubber to a axle going to keep you from.knocking over small children and light poles with your 16# RC10?
