Here is my Turbo Ultima. Recent threads have inspired me and I ordered a new body set from Marwan. This will be my next resto after I'm done with the BBT sprinter. I'm starting this thread as a placeholder to encourage me to post pics as I go. I tend to get absorbed and forget to take pics of the build.
I swear all of these cars that were not box art were painted red! The body on this car is an original that was very poorly painted. I stripped it a while ago and resprayed it. It is also pretty badly cracked and I shoo gooed it together for now until I get the new body. All the shocks on this car are stiff and need complete resto. Other than that it is actually in nice shape so a decent cleaning should make it a nice car again.
WOW!!!. This car looks a lot like mine, the conditions and everything. Keep us posted on the progress. I would love to see how this one comes along as I work on mine.
Again, I love Turbo Ultimas! This one looks to be in great shape. Maybe we should just have a Turbo Ultima thread so we can post our finished products.

Maybe we should just put up a Turbo Ultima thread. I have mine to post as well, got it back in 1989, rebuilt it this year and ran it against the b4s...it ran well.
This is great! The turbo ultimas are being revived.
When I restored my Turbo Ultima a billion years ago now, I remember remembering that I had to buy the motor guard separately AND I wore out the final pinion which was replaced with the hard version. So the list that radioactivity posted is correct....
Found a nice turbo ultima i think.. Correct me if i'm wrong...
Like the red arms on it... Thats why i got it...
Just found out i lost the other pictures. i have to upload it again... :(

Great find! I like it!
Thanks! It was a lucky find... :D
Both Marwan and TBG have the turbo ultima shell I believe, perhaps Kamtec too.
They could be listed as ultimaII (2) or ultima pro; but that's all the same
Just received this car from sunny Puerto Rico. It's actually my first Ultima so I have a lot to learn. It appears I am missing the rear motor guard but other than that it is very clean. Has a regular Ultima body on it which I prefer to see the...

I will do the wheels, good idea. They don't look like they have ever been run so will polish up very nice.
Is there anyone making tires that fit these wheels these days? Out of curiosity. I will likely run RB5 carriers in front and 2.2 and RB5 rear...
Ok Kyosho guru's, what is the paint color for the red that matches the decals :?:

Again, I'm late with input but yeah, a box art Turbo Ultima is white and orange. I'm not sure why this is a thing suddenly. Is someone making incorrect decals? I purchased a Turbo Ultima brand new in 1987 and I still have the box somewhere.
Hey guys. I recently dug out my old Turbo Ultima, and I'm having a few problems that I'm hoping someone here can help me with.
I'm having issues with two things, sloppy steering (no surprise) and the right rear CVD constantly popping out when the...

These appear to have a larger offset
Yeah, I've looked at those. The only problem with them is that the matching front wheel in that set is also hex driven. In order to run those, I'd have to convert the front of my T.U. to hex driven also. Which...
So, I was getting a bit nostalgic and pulled out a couple of cars from 30 years ago. I cannot remember if this was an Ultima or a turbo Ultima. Can someone help?
The front shocks were from my RC 10

Its an Ultima with alot of mods...yes its worth restoring...be patient on ebay, etc....searching for each part u need..it will cost big money but worth it!
I just dug out a bunch of my old cars that we used to race back in the late 80's early 90's and I want to get my Turbo Ultima running again. What I want to do is find out what 2.2 wheels and tires will work on it and if there is a readiy available...

I think you're looking for the sand viper body.
Personally I find the desert gator a better fit. The nose section of the desert gator covers the topplate entirely, sand viper doesn't.
further down the thread you'll see I'm using sand viper...
This original ultima came with a titanium color spare chassis, that i think came with the turbo ultima?
But it has gold shocks which iluckily have a full set of platinums.
No sway bars, and a glass rear shock tower, but an aluminium front tower?...

Appreciate the kind words gents, always inspired by other builds on here too.
