Re: My new Turbo Ultima?
Looks really clean from what can be seen in that one pic. Is the chassis a bronze color or bare aluminum? The bronze would indicate Turbo, along with those shocks and anti-sway bar.

Re: My new Turbo Ultima?
Looks fantastic...but is that...a...*gasp* SCRATCH on the underside of that chassis?? Oh the horror!!
That chassis is in excellent shape. I always loved that Champ 500-style Centerline wheel design; wish I could find wheels like that for the Optima.

There is a mark on it. The bronze didn't come out fortunately. I can replace it i guess to be perfect lol...Coelacanth wrote:Looks fantastic...but is that...a...*gasp* SCRATCH on the underside of that chassis?? Oh the horror!!

Re: My new Turbo Ultima?
Great find my friend. I wish to restore an Ultima one day, but that will have to wait until I finish my RC10 which has been sitting for over a year. Been busy with my Clods...
My son... ask for thyself another kingdom... for that which I leave is too small for thee.

Re: My new Turbo Ultima?
I'd suggest palying around with the way the arms are mounted a bit.
Swap them left-to -right so the screwheads at the hinge-pin side are facing upwards. That way you won't scratch the heads and be able to loosen them later if needed. The swaybar mount should go on top of the arm and those screwheads should go up too.
And yes it is a turbo ultima: the topdeck and shocktowers confirm that. The rear moter guard too. The spur is an aftermarket replacement, but I can't tell you who made it, sorry.
What will you do for a body: turbo/standard ultima/aftermarket/something custom?

I'll probably leave this one alone.. It will be on the shelf to be appreciated.. Too nice to be run i guess. Unless i go crazy lol:
Yeah its a turbo ultima.. Actually the one i really like is the turbo optima...
I think i had a gold one before... From what i remembered it was all gold complete with box, manuals & everything... Never been used too..
But didn't know what it was Sold it cheap!!
For a body i'll put a turbo ultima on it. Any suggestions?

Re: My new Turbo Ultima?
Both Marwan and TBG have the turbo ultima shell I believe, perhaps Kamtec too.
They could be listed as ultimaII (2) or ultima pro; but that's all the same
