Tire question/options for 870c
In the pursuit to make my 870c more of a "racer" I want to swap the TF8/TR8's out to something more cutting edge for the time period, I have a set of Shumacher mini' spikes that look good, and are period correct for the rear--but have no idea what would fit with the "look" that i'm trying for
in the front.
Any ideas? Please!!

Re: Tire question/options for 870c
hey Reggie,
I know that there were a number of proline front tires that fit the yokomos. In addition, the schumacher tites for the car also worked. I'll check to see if I can find some pics for you.
Are you going with the mini pin look?
Regards,
Roger

Reg,
I went digigng in my tire box and found a couple of Pro-line tires for the front. Don't know if they match the rears particular but there for 2.0.

Whew, the stubbies are hot!
I have the other tires pictured--Al, do you know if they made a 2.0 stubbie, or would I mount/trim a set of 8086 on the rear?

I don't have a matching rear and don't know if they made them, maybe highwayracer or scr8p might know. I was just looking at the 8086 and isn't it for 2.15 or something larger than 2.0?

Yep, that's where I get confused
I can't seem to find a matching pin/stub/mini pin in 2.0
and I've been up and down the Shuy forum and can't sind a comp front tire
Al, you want to ad the 2.0 stubs to my tab?

Re: Tire question/options for 870c
if you wanted to go the schumacher tire route, instead of looking for the schumachers, it might be easier finding the crp copies (2.0).

Re: Tire question/options for 870c
hey Reggie,
I have a pair of the CRP 4237 (mini pins). I put them on a standard front 870c front wheel and the tire looks very small (very low profile).
Regards,
Roger

There's a '91 in there now but that's too early, need one a couple of years maybe 3 to 4 years later. Get on that scr8p I know you're probably sitting on one.Charlie don't surf wrote:Just like me!a01butal wrote:No prob, they are cheap.
