Love it or Hate it!
Love it or Hate it!
This is a love/hate kind of car. I've shown the car before but i"ve done a few mods to it recently and thats where you will love it or hate it. It started as a new in open box 6030 graphite that I assembled to box art specs. It lasted that way a few months when I found a NIP set of CC F+R shock towers and CC graphite motor mount so I changed them out along with a Factory Works Battery brace. I called the car The all graphite, graphite. Well recently I took the all graphite a step farther and added graphite wing tubes and took some old turnbuckles and sleeved them with graphite as well. I also found a use for a broken CC battery brace I had and made a similar to stock battery hold down because the Factory works brace covered up my newly found Reedy Power pack. Still looking for a yelloy one if anyone happens to have one they want to get rid of . I thought I couldn't possibly put any more graphite on the car until I broke a Universal Joint that I was cleaning for my worlds car. I found a used set and cut them in half and sleeved those as well with graphite! I just used CA but they are actually really strong. I don't think Id go racing using them but they should hold up well on the shelf!
So what do you guys think? I didn't ruin and still have all the OG parts so it can go back to box stock at anytime. I love it! Im think of looking for or trading this chassis for a TQ chassis to match all the non weave aftermarket and hand made parts on here. Or I may cut my own when my blanks get here I don't really see anything else that could be graphite, maybe some bellcranks or something like that. What you guys think!?

The car looks really nice, but I guess my question is why would you want to remove ALL of the adjustability out of your linkage throughout the car? I guess to me, that screams, "I don't use this at all for it's intended purpose." I mean, it looks cool, but completely useless for even squaring the car up on the table.
I guess if you really wanted a car with as much carbon fiber on it as possible for no apparent reason, then it's awesome. The majority of the car is an A, but the tie-rods are a D.

Point taken. I knew some of you wouldn't like it. The front is prefectly straight as it sits. I don't drive any of my cars. I guess if my shelf surface gets a bit more bite I will need some camber adhustmentsEau Rouge wrote:The car looks really nice, but I guess my question is why would you want to remove ALL of the adjustability out of your linkage throughout the car? I like it! I'm going to steal your wing tube idea. Where did you get the graphite tube and is it the correct I.D. for the stock wing wire?
I actually did the same thing to a pair of AE universals with aluminum tubing.

Got the graphite at Hobby Town USA. I'll have to check the diamater. I think its .195. Its all whatever the OG wing tubes are. The wing tube holes are bigger than stock. Its not a problem though, just bend the wing wire a bit and it will fit in nice and snug and not fall out even under race conditions.LTO_Dave wrote:I like it! I'm going to steal your wing tube idea. Re: Love it or Hate it!
I like it, and at the end of the day it only matters if you like it. When someone asks me whens the last time I actually drove anything I have a hard time remembering as its been that long. R/C's have become like models to me that you can actually drive if you wanted to.fastang wrote: Point taken. I knew some of you wouldn't like it. The front is prefectly straight as it sits.
