Composite Craft JRX Aftermarket Build

Unfortunately I did not take a lot of pics. 99% of this car is new parts. It all started with Composite Craft Chassis I traded Bearickster a mound of parts and cash for a long time ago, thanks! My goal was to use up much of the NIP aftermarket stuff I had as I was getting tired of looking at parts in bags. Also used all stainless steel hardware.

Highlights:

Composite Craft – Chassis with metal stays – I did not drill chassis for two rear stays. This chassis is extremely stiff!
Litesink – Rear Motor Plate
A&L - Steering Bell Cranks and Rack with Losi Steering Posts so as not to have to drill chassis for larger A&L Screws
Tecnacraft – Titanium Turnbuckles and Front Suspension Pins
RPM Stuff – Ball Ends, Spur Gear Cover, Rear Suspension Arms, Castor Blocks and Steering Knuckles
Andy’s – Front A-Arms
Thorpe – Gears and Differential
Trinity – 5 spoke wheels (Dyed Purple, too dark unfortunately), Vampyre “Bloody Fast Stock Motor”, Purple Power Shocks (These need associated shock bushing size)
Losi - Vari Spike Rear Tires, JRXT Front Shock Tower, Pro Se Rear Tower, JRX2 Wing Wire
JG - Front Body Mount
CRP – Front 2.0” mini spike tires

nice jrx there those chassis are hard to find. are the shocks a dry build? always wondered how smooth they were.

build looks amazing, those composite craft chassis kits are great. i have like 3 sets of those shocks myself but never found a build to use them on, they go great on your car there

They are not a dry build. 30wt in front, 40wt in back. I like to play the suspension on my shelf queens so I keep oil in most of them, at least a little bit to keep the o-rings lubed while I bounce them up and down.

They were surprisingly smooth as I had no idea what to expect. They are as smooth as any new shock I have on my modern cars.

I also have a built set of short front ones power purple shocks but they would only work with stock JRX2 shock tower, they were even too short for a proSE front tower.

I felt those trinity shocks back in the day and they were the smoothest thing on the market...least amount of stiction. Really nice build. What size are the trinity front wheels? I had a set and they were 2.0 all around. I wound up using a pair of 1.9 inch tires to make it work.

They are 2.0 fronts and the tires are CRP still available from CRP on ebay. The wheels were originally a hot pink but badly faded from UV exposure. I will probbaly be looking for another set and try to get the purple dye a bit lighter.

And I agree on the shocks, I was surprised just how smooth they are, I'd put them up there with the best today and I have some new Schumacher Cougar SV Big Bores and Losi to compare to. Kind of a unique piston set up or at least one I had not seen.

Thanks for providing the pics. Did those have 2 of the orange o-rings (like most of the shocks of that era) or one?

You know I am not sure, they were preassembled and I did not pay attention.
