decided to build the custom gold skull machine. (RC10L)

Post by durb69 »

I need to make a few more parts out of g10 fiberglass in gold. Might make some aluminum parts and get them gold anodized. Ive been thinking about setting up my own anodizing station. I might design some custom front end suspension at some point as well. But for now i will make the few pieces i need out of g10 and die the associated white parts gold and see what they look like. I think i will put chrome parma wheels on it. I wish i could find gold tires (rims) for it. Some technacraft rims would be sick but i cant afford those.

actually a set of Jakes wheels re-anno'd gold would look great on it. If not re-anno'd maybe shodog's trick with the tamiya gold transluscent paint on the centers to make them look like tecnacrafts

Looks good so far.

I think you went a little overboard on the skull & crossbones motif but otherwise its pretty cool.

I can agree to that. I usually add one custom piece with skulls to each one of my vehicles so it never looks over done. but this time i figured i would make all the pieces for a vehicle and make a one off custom machine. I didnt think about the over board effect it would have. but im just going to roll with it lol. it will be fun to make it either way :D

Them all 8) Although none of them would suit my 10L particularly well as it's graphite with the active caster front end. I do like the look of the aluminium nerf bars in one of your other threads though, they'd look cool on mine.

I think the whole thing looks awesome! Love the skull prints all over the chassis. I would go for a set of aluminum nerf bars too if you decided to make a run. Can't wait to start on my 10L. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

Cheers,
Don

If i do end up making a run of those i will send you a PM or post it in the B/S/T section under ebay.

thanks for the comment guys. I enjoy messing with this stuff on the side. a few months ago i would have had this project finished inside of a week or less but the sun comes out in the summer and i spend all my time playing outside instead of inside lol. This thread might be slow but will def. be updated as i go.
