Hopefully they learned something from Kyosho here! For the most part, Kyosho has always had the really good shocks!

Those "vented" lower spring retainers look pretty cool, if that's what they are. But what am I missing..why are there are 12?

i think the spring cups vary due to clearance issues.

very nice though, now i may finally join the big bore club.

I think that they just obstruct the airflow from reaching the shell and wing

 And no longer is the shaft-cooling dust and dirt deflected! It can get straight up to the shaft now to do it's job more efficiently.

Official info with part numbers and spring weights is up on AE's website.

http://www.teamassociated.com/bigbores/

Three spring cup heights (+0mm, +5mm, +9mm offset)
I still think they're meant as easy to add up stops.

Also looks like all the stroke lengths got a hair longer.

X-Factory seems to think that big bores aren't necessary on 1/10 buggies. Paul Sinclair runs the V2's but with Losi BB springs. He says it's the best of both worlds. He doesn't like the added weight of the larger shocks being so high up. I'm a bit on the fence. Larger is only better to a certain point. Modern cars are getting heavier and people are "tuning" by adding weight rather than actually knowing what to do. Jumps have also gotten larger on many modern tracks so I can see the need for a big bore in some instances. I'm not sure if they are always the way to go though. I'm going to wait this one out for a bit.

I've been using the TLR22 big bores on my Gold Pan, I really like the way it feels. I just put the gold shocks back on so I can do some back to back testing. Last time I did back to back testing, it was a very hot outdoor blue groove track. Really calmed the car down, if I could explain it better, I would.
