TL-01 rebuild
TL-01 rebuild
Hey all, Thought I would show another side project i'm working on
This one is a TL-01 I picked up a few years ago, it came with the esc and Futaba radio already and worked well. In an effort to interest my wife in my hobbie (another 1 of them ) I picked up the Subaru shell and sprayed it pink for her Anyway didn't really take off for her and now it's time to rejuvenate this little beauty
You can see from the pic's what I started with and of course the obligatory stripped pic
I picked up some new chrome wheels and rally tyres for her and to top her off I scored a nice Tamiya Honda Civic Castrol body . I'm waiting for the new body mounts to arrive and of course I still need to put her back together
Anyway heres some pic's for you, stay tuned

Re: TL-01 rebuild
Nice to see someone paying the TL01 some attention, I have two of them neither of which runs right now
One needs a new set of gears and shocks, the other one a chassis. Mix'em both and I could have a running TL01

Re: TL-01 rebuild
I used to have a sweet all-aluminum (besides the chassis of course) TL-01
I stuffed a 10.5T brushless in that thing, and BOY was is awesome to drive
but... uh... I crashed it... and another pic
and then after I repaired it, my friend offered me an absurd amount of money for it... which I accepted, of course
so, even after replacing all the broken parts, I still made almost $100 profit on the car haha
Can't wait to see your restore! I just checked out your striker restore thread, and you obviously do a very nice job, so I'll make sure to keep watching

Re: TL-01 rebuild
TL-01 is my fav tamiya onroad.. i bet they stoped making them cause they were too good..i saw the smashed pic but that never happened to me or my buddy and we bashed the heck out of them with no problems. i have a tamiya stadium raider tl01 great truck with offroad tires and 2.2 wheels good on and off road fun. you can offroad stock wheels/tires and put on some drift or road wheels/tire and hit the streets
