New guy with an old RC10
New guy with an old RC10
Hello all, my name is Scott. I have to say this is an impressive site for RC10 related stuff. I just stumbled upon you guys yesterday and have been reading like crazy.
I was heavy into the RC world back in 2000 up until about 2006 and then got out for many different reasons. I never had anything electric, all of my trucks/cars were nitro. I enjoyed it but other things took over and I found myself with no time to pursue it and it had also gotten out of control. I quit cold turkey and sold it all.
Fast forward to today and I am interested in getting an electric car to play around with. My buddy at work runs his with his son and I have been thinking about getting back into it but just with one car. I was down at my dads place and he was showing me his latest yard sale scores, this is his hobby now that he is retired. At 70 he still gets around and hits as many of the sales as he can, one mans junk is another mans treasure. I see a box in the floor of what looks to be like an RC car, I look in it and low and behold I find a box full of stuff. He says the car runs fine and I can have it if I want it, he got what he wanted out of the box already. He would not take any money but insisted I take it, so I did. Since I do not know what I have I have taken several pictures for you guys to help a rookie out with and maybe let me know what I have.
My Intent now is to rebuild the original car as best I can. Is this possible and do you think I have some of the original stuff here? There is a part of me that may want to go the route of building it with modern stuff and running it. I want to use the gold pan and build the car. Can I get a body for this thing? I has the driver and wing that looked to have never been touched along with the wheels that are on the box, they are brand new. Anyway, look at the pics and let me know what you think, I would greatly appreciate it.

I cannot figure the picture posting out. Do you submit them and they have to be approved?

no, you have to add it to the message, but there is a size limit. if you click 'browse' and select it, if the photo is too big, it will give you an error on top of the page somewhere, it's not completely obvious. remember, it's also a two step process, you have to select the image, and then hit the add the file button.

The easiest thing to do is create a Photobucket account and download the iPad app then upload your images to it, it's then a simple matter of copying the IMG link from Photobucket into your reply, I think this might work regardless of the image size.

Just get rid of the broken pieces, it should just have [img] the photobucket link [/img] with no spaces. The link for forum use works great for me. Photobucket mobile is way better than the web based IMO. Your getting the idea.

Don't put the extra set of [img] tags in there, usually the link provided by photobucket already has them
