Need some input and direction on tuber sand rail buggy
Ok so I think this is my inspiration. I bought one of the metal tuber chassis setups on fleabay and want a long suspension travel, wide arm Frankenstein.

I'm going to use the buggy nose plate due to the compatibility with this roll cage/tuber setup. But that means a very wide front track if I use rpm 10T front arms which I would like to do. Any input on that, or potential pitfalls?
Dumb question, will the fleabay aluminum 10T rear arm mounts work to replace rear arm mounts for a buggy? The holes all line up?
That'll do it for now. Need to think if I should buy a 10T roller or get parts I need 1 by 1.

Re: Need some input and direction on tuber sand rail buggy
me personally, i would go with rpm "truck" arms. not the 10t arms. going with super wide arms on a chassis with a buggy wheel base just looks weird to me.

You could use a set of 10t arms with some 2.2 buggy wheels

RPM Traxxas Bandit front arms are an option. Half inch shorter than 10T front arms and will mount to RC10 buggy front arm mounts.

Thanks for the heads up, I will check them out. So they are between rpm rc10 buggy front arms and rpm 10T front arms?Phin wrote:RPM Traxxas Bandit front arms are an option. Half inch shorter than 10T front arms and will mount to RC10 buggy front arm mounts.
I was thinking of using hex drive axles like the b4.2 and Sean's +8mm WOIN buggy build, but I'm not sure if that will limit me on the wheel options to do paddle rear tires and I'm not sure what I'll do up front.
Clearly more research is needed.

Bandit arms are about 1/8" shorter than B3 arms...which you can try and see if they're the width you want.
If they're too wide then B2 carpet arms, Andy's Pro Race arms, or even RPM worlds arms. Here's what the B2 carpet arms I got from you look like on a buggy width kick-up:

Re: Need some input and direction on tuber sand rail buggy
Jason, what do the RPM truck arms look like and how do they compare in length with the 10t arms?
I like my tall towers with the long shocks on my sandrail. It works well with the 10t width nose and 10t arms. I'm not sure how it would work with the wider nose plate. I do think it would be too wide with the rc10 nose plate and 10t arms though.
Adam, I love that chassis btw!

They don't look much longer than the rc10 arms.

the fronts are almost as long as rpm worlds arms, and i believe the rears are longer than worlds arms.

Re: Need some input and direction on tuber sand rail buggy
The rpm worlds arms are the same length as the Klien arms, right?
Those could be used in front and rc10 truck in the rear for a decent long travel look. As long as everything functions properly that is.

It's just not going to have the same look as the A&L tall tower with the 10t shocks and arms, but I'll be watching to see what happens.

Front ends using RPM truck arms got most of their width from the shallow offset that truck conversion wheels used to have: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=3448#p31919vintage AE wrote:They don't look much longer than the rc10 arms.

Yep, I like the look of the big front tower you have as well. Thanks for the input guys, I"ll think it over but may have to buy a few of these to test fit in person and see what direction I want to go.vintage AE wrote:It's just not going to have the same look as the A&L tall tower with the 10t shocks and arms, but I'll be watching to see what happens.
