A bit of shrink-wrap down over the connector spades would do that too, but you'd have to desolder to fix it.

No need to get worked up; anything you share publicly on a discussion forum is...open for discussion.

Re: Delete
Just not interested in discussing my projects amongst pedantic individuals who have no interest in the substance of the project itself. Seems some here would rather hash out yet another WOIN thread or somesuch than partake in something different and original.

Not sure what transpired in this thread, and all your content was deleted-
While I don't really care to see another WOIN thread right now either...this place is really chill overall, and we don't allow a bunch of bashing. So, what happened?

id like to see what you had up but i understand why you would delete something..you spend time on something and you want to talk about it with people but all you get is snotty/joke remarks/post.. this world is being flooded by internet wimps that hide behind computers. people say things on the internet that i know they would not say to my face.. growing up ive beat the hell out of people for saying alot less then whats been said to me online. i dont know whats going on with this site . id really like to see different stuff. its a great site with some great people but the same gold pan rebuilds are getting a bit old for me... dont feel bad i built a 15 inch wide rc10 and noone really said anything till i posted something like , wow i build something ive never seen done before and noone has anything to say?..Sixtysixdeuce wrote:Just not interested in discussing my projects amongst pedantic individuals who have no interest in the substance of the project itself. There is a fine line between fabricating something yourself that looks cool and performs well, and say something that looks backwoods engineer-ed or "hack." That said, most stuff I've made myself tends to be of the "hack" variety, and therefore I don't put it our for criticism. (If I can tell it's hack, I know others will too! )AND, when I perceive something I see on here or elsewhere as hack, I withhold my comment and say nothing. (That doesn't mean that every topic I didn't comment on was hack BTW )
You also will find that a lot of the crew here are former racers, (some currently still racing) and racers tend to be pretty specific about what's desirable and what's not in a chassis.
Check this one out for example: I'm REAL proud of my handi work... LEt the Comments begin.

Re: Delete
you're gonna have to shorten those two front screws. well, maybe just the one.....otherwise, it's great right steering, and very little left turn.
bumpsteer? you think you hate it now, wait till you drive it! hah, love that line.
I missed what happen in this thread, the pictures looked pretty cool, stuffing the bigger motor in. must have taken a turn for the worse after I checked it out.

Speaking to the "internet wimps" comment, assuming it was aimed my way...I post everything I've done--the modded, the fabricated, the good, bad or ugly--fully conscious of the fact any of you might like or or dislike it. In fact, since I tend to go on tangents away from what appeals to the masses, perhaps that makes me an even bigger target. That said, if I couldn't take the heat, I'd stay out of the kitchen and I would refrain from posting anything.
The topic was about mounting an 07-sized motor in 1:10-scale chassis. Zip-ties were used on all of the motor leads where they soldered to the little circuit board, and people wondered what the purpose was (to keep them from shorting out if they broke the solder joints and came loose). Honestly, I don't see why this turned out to be a big deal.
I posted an ironically similar post in my OptiMutt thread where I housed some ESC-to-motor leads in split-loom sheathing, and got some thumbs up, and some thumbs down. I explained my reasons for choosing that method and was fine with the criticism, and moved on.
Let's face reality here, we're vintage RC enthusiasts, sharing our efforts, and the "minutiae" is probably going to be noticed by everyone.
