"Holy Sway Bars Batman!" ~DMAT

Post by knixdad »

Quoted from DMAT, on an Ebay RC10 that Charlie Don't Surf noticed. It intrigued me, so here it is before I pull it apart to clean it. I'll take more pics in better light later.

I miss brushed motors in that hazy, everything seemed better when I was a kid, kind of way.

This car is the 3rd revision of the Edinger, same as the first car in my gallery, without the FRP straps and early cups (which makes it a 3rd revision mid transition) DO NOT peroxide this car! The nylon is supposed to be a vanilla color, just like the RC500's, its a different mixture of nylon than the others. Looks very clean...you stole it @ that price 8)

Definitely not peroxiding anything. Would have liked to have seen the body that was on it, to fit the custom body mounts on it.

The rod ends are irking me though.

The rod ends are a great example of what we did back then, associated ball joints were ok but DuBro, Parma, and Rocket City were heavy duty

I think it's more of the mounts they are attached to. Some of the bolts are too long, jabbing into the gear cover and whatnot. Other than cleaning it and removing the red overspray that's on some parts, I don't think I'll do much else to it.

Guaranteed the owner of that car had an SRB (or at least knew someone with one), and thought if it works for Sand Scorcher, it's gotta be a good idea.

I'd find me some proper length and correct (ie knurled hex 4-40) hardware and fix the length issues for sure. Nice that your got reverse! That was a dealer installed option  . Interesting wing tube and antenna mount upgrades too. :? Definitely an SRB owner!

it's a shame someone drilled holes in the rear kickup.

Copy that! Otherwise those sway bars would come off much easier.

Anyone notice all these national pros running the demo races of late and popping ball cups left and right?

Very nice grab and definitely a keeper! Do you have any Goodyear lettering on the tires?

That just means he can hang two extra Dirty Danglers off the back.

Four across...it'd be like a Newton's Cradle. :D

The kickup holes do vex me, but if I leave the massive sway bars alone, they're tolerable.

The tires are unlettered. It came with a spare set of front wheels and tires that are smooth as well.

But by leaving the bars on, I don't see the holes.

But the bars look 100 times worse than the holes will.
