Mr. Gold and Silver (final pictures on last post)

Post by DMAT »

Just another Alloy build in progress. All the extra parts from my first alloy build being put into another. I have an extra set of electronics but I want to put them on a graphite racer.

A lot of the parts are actually from members here so this is more of a RC10talk build. Finally got to use the parts from ask bob, quite a wonderful chassis he had on that other car. Some suggested a while back that I do a chrome painted body to go along with my other alloy car but I went for the body panels instead after purchasing this one. So now im doing it on this one.

That looks super nice! 8) Good to see those parts again.
I'm assuming the body is painted with a chrome paint from underneath?

Its painted from the inside

forgot to add I'm missing my axle pins. Didnt know B4 only used 1/16" pins and everything I have wont fit it.

The body is painted from the inside. I gotta say Jaystuff the ebay seller cut down the body as tight as possible around the rear shock tower. Its a little hard to put it on. I also need to trim it at the front as the steering hits it.

The offset on the rear tires puts like a 1mm gap between the rear hub carriers and the rim. It actually puts the front wheels wider than the rears too.

anybody know what kind of track the tires I have were for?

On a side note, the driver figure seems to hit the heat sink so I'm not sure what im gonna do yet. The body wont sit right if both are there.

I'm working on the body at moment and I've come across a problem. Im adding holes for the body posts and I noticed that the front body post hole goes right through a sticker. The stick was placed too far back originally.

would yall drill through or not. I dont see myself racing this car.

Can you move the post back to the worlds position? Same as the prototype cars used- on the servo saver bolt

Can you give me a picture of what your refering too?

So far It seems that I can put a screw with some spacers on the middle hole by the servo mount and put the body post there. It seems a little odd but it can work. not sure if you could mount anything to the bell cranks to connect a servo though.

I Decided to reorganize my parts some and found the pins for my b4 axles so everything is turning.

I installed a speedworks 350 motor I had lying around. 15 on 87 gearing but its all for show. doubt I'd run that motor though.

The gear cover pushes the body out really far to the side that it doesnt look good. Not sure If i should trim it or what. I did trim the body by the bell cranks so it doesnt hit anything.

Looks VERY cool! Nice job.
Remember it's either a runner or a shelfer. Everything else is just parts.
