New member looking for help
I have a RC10 with a 6 gear tranny that needs new idler gears. Is there a source for these? They were part #6613. If I cannot fix this tranny then is a stealth tranny a bolt in replacement? Are all stealth trannys the same? What about the newer ones for todays T4's...will they bolt in?
Thanks
Thanks

tower has the idlers............

the first gen. stealth (2.25) is a drop in replacement for a B or C stamped chassis. if yours is an A stamp, you'll need to drill 4 new holes to mount the trans to the chassis. any of the other stealths (b2/b3/t3, t2, b4/t4), would need quite a bit of modifications to the car to make it work.
welcome to the board, by the way.

scr8p is right. Tower has the idler gears and your LHS may have some too. I know the one by me has atleast 15 pair of them. One in a while on ebay you can find a pair Of Race Master steel idler gears. I put a set in mine back in 91 and have yet to tear them up.

you dont' "need" this but it makes life a lot easier for drilling for the stealth...

diggin this up--
anyone have a lead on a set of those steel idlers for a 6 gear, please?
I have a set I got back in the day, but they are getting worn. I don't know how ling they'll hold up to a brushless setup.

I might be wrong, but i think i recall someone saying you could grind off a set of outdrives, and use them for idler gears, say if you have a set that is all mangled on the bone drives, cut, chop, grind, etc, so that the it's just a flat gear, and you are set.
