Kyosho ultima sprint ID advice - UPDATED PICS
Kyosho ultima sprint ID advice - UPDATED PICS
Hello!
I bought this based off of worse photos than mine:) I got a great deal and was thinking it was an rc10 because of the gold shocks and similar battery tray and white parts... So it arrives and I have no experience with Kyosho. I believe I have an ultima or turbo ultima with a grand motorsports graphite vulcan or hugger t chassis and bolink body. It came with an option house sticker and in my limited research suggests they came with the gold shocks if they were upgraded. I'd like to fix this up and shelf it just because I love the look of sprint cars. Anyone see anything that suggests I am not on the right track?
Any ideas or info that will shed some light on this is appreciated!
Thank you and I am going to try and get better pics tonight with a real camera:)

Re: Kyosho ultima sprint conversion parts ID advice
Well, there are a couple RC10 parts on it, the battery trays, and the white block next to the receiver, but that's about it
Front bulkhead and shock tower are original Ultima parts. The rear shock tower doesn't match my 1987 Ultima though. Plus the gearbox looks to be Ultima. So I'd look for first gen Ultima parts to fix things.

Not sure about the plate, but the front & rear ends appear to be all Ultima. The Gold shocks are a nice upgrade. That'll be nice to see restored!

I don't think it's a Grand Motorsports chassis...I believe they were all flat for their full length and used custom aluminum front bulkheads and/or wedges for the front kick-up. Not sure who made it but Composite Craft would be my "most likely" guess...or maybe Rayborn.
JG and DA Graphite also sold graphite chassis blanks for the Ultima so it could be custom cut too.

It's a Raborn chassis.

Raborn! Finally, I have been searching all over and from the few pics I can track down it looks like a match:)
