Vintage AE's 12L3 & 12L4

As payment for some of my hard work for Rod, he gave me a 12L3 and a 12L4. Now, needless to say, they weren't complete cars, so here's where the fun begins.

Here's how the 12L looked. Seems nearly complete, but...

And, apparently I have no 12L4 before shot

Anyway, my plans are to completely tear them down and clean them. I'm going to sand the 12L3 chassis and restore it to a Factory Team 12L3. The 12L4, I'm going to put my stank on that one.

The 12L3 was nearly complete, so that one is going to be easier to restore.

Here is how the 12L3 is coming

The 12L3 needs a few things yet
- Front body post Assoc 3323
- Rear body post Assoc 4513
- Cross brace Assoc 4506
- 1/8" x 5/16" flanged bearings

As of right now, I got modern wheels on it, still looking for those too. Also, I'd like to find an original body, but good luck with that.

I added some bling hardware

Turned out pretty nice so far

I got a Challenger body from TBG,

but the wheelbase is longer on the chassis than on the body, so I decided that I would drill some fresh holes You can see that there's quite a difference.

It fits nicely now though

The 12L4 still needs a bunch of parts. I'll through the list out here, but I'll get painting in the meantime.
- Front springs 0.020 Assoc 4413
- Servo mounts Assoc 4562
- FT Ti 1.775" turnbuckles Assoc 1404
- Rear chassis brace Assoc 4534
- T-bar brace Assoc 4524
- Body post front and rear, probably not stock considering the body
- possibly aftermarket wheels.

I had to swap the wheels around to have the 12L4 be complete with black wheels and now need original 12L3 wheels, but here she be.

And with the body just sitting on top of the wheels...

That is on sweet looking body. Can you drop the nose any?

I wish. The best I could do is make some kind of front body skirt out of scrap lexan and paint it flat black. I still have to raise it up to clear the tires too. I need some body post for the thing still so I might steal some from you or buy some from the shop.

You could lower the front by extending the front wheel-well cuts upward, if you didn't mind removing the fender flares. That would permit the whole front end to be positioned lower on the future body posts and still allow the wheels to turn without rubbing. You could still leave the rear raised up a bit more to give the body a slight angle, which actually looks good with muscle cars...not to mention the rear tires should probably tuck under the flared rear wheel-wells anyway.

Wow! That paint job rocks! Great to see a muscle car body on there.
