Body Mounting

Post by NomadRacer »

I've been carefully trimming and mounting a body and have come to the part where I have problems/mess up... the front post. I don't want to mess up at this point because it's coming out really nice.

Can you guys give me some tips and or help?

I look straight down on it and mark the very back edge and the very front edge of the post (this will be a slightly oval hole). Don't project the post at the noseplate angle, project it straight up vertical. I ream my hole dead between those two lines that I draw, and use a dremel to elongate them into a slight oval. Start small and work up to the finished size. The front is always a pita

Thanks, Jeff. By not looking straight down and marking is where I've been messing up all this time.

While I had all the tools of mass destruction out, how about some vents in the windows!
