Team Associated Vehicle History

Post by WebSteve »

I started an ambitious project to list every single vehicle release by Team Associated from its beginning. You can see the current status here: http://bit.ly/aehistory It should work fine in mobile and desktop screens.

I've been able to verify all the vehicle years with the exception of the RC1, RC2, and #7014 RC10T Complete Kit. I've been working at Team Associated for the past 30 years and have a lot of archived press releases and other print-related docs to back up the years that I've worked on. That's where the content comes from.

Please click through and give any thoughts regarding your sphere of experience and know-how. This is for all kinds of vehicles, not just for buggies, but I don't see a suitable forum section for all vehicles, so just give a holler to your buddies about this. This is a good beginning. Do you have suggestions on improving it?

Click on "About this History" to see my assumptions regarding the assembly of this list so you understand what's included and what's not.

I haven't linked to it live yet, so you are getting the first look. Feel free to share. I still have many thumbnails to add, and all their popups and text content.

Steve, I love it, it's going to be awesome. other than the 25yrs thread, I don't know much history, so I can just comment, without any real input.

Very neat. As someone who has been out of it for 20 years, that helped me catch up and is a good reference when someone says they have a "...."

In looking through my catalogs for that one, I found a couple more not listed

3040 12e Team Nats Kit
3050 12e Team Nats RTR

1 Group 12 RTR no radio
2 Group 12 Kit no radio
3 Group 12 RTR w/radio

I know the Group 12 wasn’t a completely Associated product, but there is so little info out there it would be cool to see it make the list. Most don’t know that Group 12 existed.

Do you have a year on the catalog? Is there a catalog name attached?

I'm wondering if "Group 12" was buying parts from Team Associated and selling their own custom car versions with them.

Can you tell me where you got this information from?
Year of publication? Name of publication?

Thanks!

Ill check the dates when I can get to the catalogs.

Group 12 was a collaboration between Associated, Bolink, Parma and Jomac all on the old Jerobee platform. All the same chassis and boxes with different box ends. The pics provided by a member whos username I dont recall but thank you Dan Y.

And some Associated Group 12 parts from my collection. The blue header card may help show it was at the transition to the white header cards. Not sure if that helps date them

Great info!

-> in the 2004 section, the picture above "RC18T" caption is incorrect (the pic appears to be an RC10B3)
