Tamiya Striker/Futaba FX10 Gears
I just finished restoring my brothers old Futaba FX10, which as I understand it is mechanically a clone of the Tamiya Striker. The guy at the hobby shop said I was being stupid to try to get it running and all the plastic would be brittle, it would fall apart and be hard to get parts for. Boy was he right. After beating the crap out of it for 5 or so years as a kid and never breaking anything, I have broken something two out of the three times I have driven it since restoring it. However, I have a strong sentimental attachment so I will continue to be stupid. Last time i was driving it the counter gear stripped. Ebay was no help. I found the part number for what it supposed to be the Striker gear bag on TamiyaBase.com, and found one online to order. It came with two counter gears, both wrong.
So, does anyone know a good source for gears other than hoping for luck on ebay? Or, what other models used the same counter gears or whole gear box? I'm out of ideas and sad now...

I know the FXT differed greatly but I thought FX10 was mostly the same.
Are you on Facebook by chance? I know a collector of FX10 parts and cars over there and I could get you his name if it would help. I’m sure he has run across that before and may even have something to offer.
