Another RC 10 6010 resurrection
Hi all,
My 9 year old son and I have decided to resurrect my RC 10 #6010 which I dusted off from the basement. I need a new controller, battery, motor and looking to upgrade to an electronic speed control. I’m thinking that these are the essentials to get up and running, and then the next steps would be tires, bearing and shocks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated regarding brand and type for upgrades.
Thanks

Hi Porterroad!
Great project. Looks like you and your son have a nice car to resurrect.
Any more pics? 6 gear or 3 gear?
Had you decided on whether you want to stay brushed or brushless?
Personally I would look at brushless 17.5 ( or maybe even 21.5t if it's a 6 gear) , 2.4ghz radio and receiver and lipo and lipo charger.
Amain hobbies is a good reference to start looking at.
As far as brand, I'm an AE kind of a guy with no experience in anything else modern. Although others on the forum have had luck with more affordable brands.
And for the future
I'd keep the tires until worn down unless cracked or totally dried out.
Bearings- I use Avid bearings, a buck a piece
Shocks- a good cleaning and fresh oil

Jconcepts has new tires and wheels that have a vintage look but with modern tire technology.
Judging by the caps and seals, those look like bottom load shocks. I'd just clean them and install new o rings with the old hardware and spacers.

Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.
