Losi JrxT rebuild

Post by Budki »

I just finished tearing down a JrxT I recently purchased. It is mostly there.
The shock clamps were cracked so I made 3d printed ones for now.
It didn't have wheels. I could use some help finding rear wheels. I have a set of white disk wheels coming. Also need to find tires.
Not sure how to add pictures from my phone.

Before you hit submit on your post there is an attachment option when you scroll down a little from the frame for the text. When you hit "attachments" you'll get different options depending on the OS of your phone. Then you just select the files you want. They have to be a certain size. < 2.75mb I think, but I'm not sure. If you get an error that they are too large you can either resize them or text them to yourself and save the received attachment. The saved attachment usually ends up being a much smaller file size than the original.

A couple of the parts I 3D printed. Clamps for the build (2 of the old ones are cracked. It has both thin and wide ones, so I designed both just in case. I also printed a battery cover, mostly just for cosmetics, as it doesn't hinge and the original one is gone so I just guessed at sizes from pictures.

Well, I had walked away for the night but that motor is driving me crazy. It looks familiar, but I can't seem to place it. What is it please? Sorry, I can't help with much info. I built a JRX2 for a friend and built a JRX Pro for myself years ago (1990 maybe? Arachnophobia was on TV I remember clearly), but didn't really do much with either.

Ahh, yes thank you! A version of Twisters motors I think, but I'm usually wrong. That Tekin ESC is sweet too. They can be taken apart, cleaned and rewired too if you're careful. Great set of electronics all the way around. It should turn out great! 8)

I always enjoy following early Losi builds. Those 3d parts you made look great! I'm looking forward to future updates!

I was on hold until the POR 15 showed up. Now I am cleaning and prepping the metal parts.

I did learn that the bottom aluminum flat head screws are not standard, but had their heads cut down. I had ordered new aluminum screws but they stick up too high, so I put the original ones back in with a little black touch-up.
I have the rear-end on now.

Chassis together. Next to the shocks.
I was building this for my shelf, I have a body to paint but missing wheels/tires. Since starting this I acquired a Jrx2. I am planning on restoring the Jrx2 and keeping it, but do I sell the JrxT? I am not sure.....Anyway, the project will continue.

And I think I'm done for a bit.
I have a clear body and some custom decals on the way. But not sure how much I can do until I find proper wheels.
Here it is with the Jrx2 I just picked up.

Got to love a JRXT

The chassis would certainly be deemed early as it lacks the servo saver hole, I don’t know enough to give an opinion on the other components.

I have a set of used wheels for your truck. I also wouldn't mind getting that Yellow #4 FM receiver crystal from that AM receiver.
