RC10DS - Lamborghini Murcielago (Re-Do)
This post is a Re-Do on my RC10DS Lamborghini Gallardo. The chassis was a custom logo chassis don by Don Martin that i purchased many many years ago. (Build link https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=36795)
It was a cool finish and i got some nice photos but a few things were buggin me about it. One was the fact that i ending up cutting a hole in the rear of the body so it can clear heatsinks of the newly installed Novak ESC. Two was that the decals peeled off after a couple of months and Three that the body was not a licensed Lambo body like what HPI offers.
After redoing my RC10DS Camaro with a new Kyosho body i decided to finish the Redo i had started on the Lambo a few months ago. I was toying around with the wheels and finally decided on a set of Tamiya Countach wheels with slick tires. For the body i went with the HPI Murcielago. I cut, trimmed and mounted the body a few days ago. I removed the wing off the Gallardo body and transfered it onto the Murcielago. I also limited the front shock ride height by installing internal spacers on the shock shafts. Now im truly happy with the car and all i have to decide is on the paint color and apply the decals.
MIP ball bearing steering assembly
two spacers added to front shock to reduce ride height
One of the wheel styles i was contemplating on using before deciding on the Tamiya Countach style
Photos of the painted body soon to follow...now lets see what colors do i have in my stash
UPDATE 8/24/2021
HERE SHE IS...RC10DS Lamborghini Murcielago in Camel Yellow
UPDATE 9/07/2021
Here are some shots done outside in natural light to show off the camel yellow as promised.
UPDATE 9/24/2021
The final touch to the Lambo has been applied. I had custom Italian flag theme tri-color #1 decals made in 3 sizes and two styles by a guy in Virginia. One style is just the number and the second style is the number within the white circle. I placed a few of the extras on the chassis Here are a few photos, from every angle of course

I just finished painting the body Tamiya Camel Yellow (photo posted)...The front masking will have the Italian flag colors.
Need to let it dry and come back to it later tonight

Nice job! Although not a fan of Camel yellow, I like that painting the Lambo in that color pays tribute to the RC10.

Thanks! It was hard to decide on a color. White was a choice and then florescent pink but Camel yellow won as i had three cans availableCoelacanth wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 3:43 pm Nice job! Although not a fan of Camel yellow, I like that painting the Lambo in that color pays tribute to the RC10.

Re: RC10DS - Lamborghini Murcielago (Re-Do)
Looks sweet, well worth the effort. The wheels work so well with the body, feels like something Lamborghini would have done to pay homage to the Countach. I really like the end result.
Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.
Hey Cru ! Go balls out

Thanks buddy!!! I really like this end result as well... The white Gallardo body and wheels wasn't doing it for me. I finally got the time to finish her the way i wanted.MarkyDents wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 10:06 am Looks sweet, well worth the effort. Lovin' the Lambo! Camel Yellow looks to have been a good choice. It looks fast even while sitting still!
