RC10LS
Hi Guys I have an opportunity to buy a mint RC10LS. The question I have Is when did the plastic change from white to black?
I don't really want to go for one that was white and has been died black...
Many thanks
Jon

Re: RC10LS
White is fiberglass, and black is "graphite." It won't be died. I mean it could be, but it would stick out as looking not great.
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Re: RC10LS
If the nylon is black on a 10LS, it has been died.

Re: RC10LS
I've done a little bit of digging And a white lower front arm is part number 8419.
I've found what appears to be an original black lower front arm with the same part number 8419 in a packet so suggesting black would of been available??
https://www.valkyriercmotorsports.com/store/p95/Associated_Pan_Car_Lower_Suspension_Arm_Set_Plastic_Black_8419.html
Can anybody clarify??
Thanks

Re: RC10LS
All of their stuff was black pretty much by the end of 94 as far as I can tell.
A couple I had - https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=26024

Re: RC10LS
Scr8p.. thats a great link many thanks for that..
Is there a definite way to tell if this car I'm interested in is real black plastic or white died black? I've explained the issue to to seller who hasn't had it from new and wasn't aware of this scenario.. His reply was
"Hi Jon, is there a way to check? It came in the box, already built. Can do close ups if you like / there are any clues?"
One thing I noticed in the pics of the box, manual & bits & bobs is that there are a couple plastic sprue / trees with some additional / optional parts on which are black... But I guess they all could of been died?
Was there any other physical differences with the black kits as a tell tail?
Big thanks
Jon

Re: RC10LS
Even if the trees were dyed in their entirety ( which I highly doubt ) when the parts were cut off they would be white in the centers. More than likely it’s black parts.
Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.
Hey Cru ! Go balls out

Re: RC10LS
That's my old car. The sealed kit I built in my thread. I sold it to romulus22 on here a long time ago, and he recently sold it on ebay.jonboy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 12:26 pm Scr8p.. thats a great link many thanks for that..
