Can someone give me the RC10 ID rundown?

Post by Rennsport77 »

Hi all!

I'm new here and still struggling with getting pics uploaded, so instead of asking someone to ID a pic, could someone give me the rundown of how to identify these rigs? I have a gold pan RC10, but am unsure of where to find the "Stamp", and how to ID worlds vs classic?

I also have an RC10T that somone once told me (from a picture on reddit) is actually an RC10ST?.. Couldn't find any info on it.. I have to upload some pics of that soon, as I want to shelf the body my dad had made for it on one of my birthdays. I can't find another similar body anywhere. Anyway, is there a path to identifying the trucks chassis as well? I'd love to replace the pan, as that one has seen better days.

Thank you for any insight!

The rc10t is a stadium truck.

Really try and send a picture and the folks here can ID anything. Can you link to the reddit picture?
rc10t and rc10t2 both were full aluminum chassis. Each different designs. The t2 was angled and the t(1) was a flat bottom.
The rc10 t3 had a plastic chassis with a front and rear metal plates.
the rc10 t4 had a full molded composite chassis.

Much appreciated! The buggy will take some digging to ID when I get home, but the 10T is definitely a #7011 sport truck (ST).

Well I did figure the truck is a #7011 RC10T "Sport Truck", but I am working on the pics issue. Apparently my phone takes pics that are like 3x the file size the forums allow. We'll get there. I really want to get to restoring these 2! I'd link the reddit post, but back when I was involved in my local Vw/Audi enthusiast forum, you weren't allowed to post outside links that weren't parts related. Idk if that's how this forum operates.. I'll just figure out pic hosting so I can try to edit file sizes of the pics.

Just take the pics with your phone sideways, or landscape in old world terms lol. Then you may only have to crop them down a little. Should work.
Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.

On my Android at least, you can Edit - Resize pics directly in the Gallery.
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Or there are some simple apps that resize photos as well which is what I do.

While my phone can resize photos, I find it easier to just screenshot the picture. Then crop and post the screenshot.

There are a lot of options when it comes to refinishing a tub chassis.

Some members strip the anodized coating and polish to a mirror finish.

I have lately been using rustoloum matte spray paint.

Others get the chassis powder coated.

The closest to original is to have the chassis re-anodized. Some people on Facebook are now offering this at reasonable prices.

There aren’t any many options for new chassis that are affordable.

I saw some members got carbon fiber tubs.

Factory works sells some flat carbon fiber chassis with a different look.

You can buy a new old stock chassis but that will cost more than the truck is worth.

J concepts makes brand new nose plates at good prices.

Just recently nearly all of the plastic parts are available new .
