Question about JRX2 Gearbox Diff

Post by a01butal »

When assembling a new diff what are you Losi veteran's doing with the A-3018 small thrust bearing. The problem is you can't or I can't seem to find the Belleville washers in the proper size. Do you still need them on the screw(shaft) for pressure or does the A-3018 just replace all the washers and such? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

a-3018 has the hardware and washers all in the package. if it doesn't then you probably have the newer version of the 3018, which has a completely different thrust bearing that will not work in that diff.

Don't know about a later version of 3018, I'm pretty sure mine would be the first version. 8 balls, about 0.4" OD. Fits in the LRM, replacing the original smaller 5 ball 3011.

Perhaps 9712K16 from McMaster? (the 5th one)

The washers linked above look like the ones, $9 for 12 washers seems a bit expensive
here is a link to the newer version of a-3018
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSA3018
the bearing is much smaller overall diameter, I am not even sure if it fits on the diff screw as I no longer have one to try.

the old version of the 3018 includes the cage, balls, thrust washers, 3 belleville washers, diff screw and nut.

PM pending as I have extras.

I looked there before, that ones about as close as any but still not perfect. I think I might have found the correct a3018 with the washers. Thanks Bongo I appreciate your input.
